While the F15 is mostly design and no substance, the K20 Pro is a powerful device and the closest competitor to the Galaxy A51.
So does the Galaxy A51 prove to be a better choice than the K20 Pro? Is it a good daily driver? Is it a dynamic device, unlike other A-series relatives? I used my smartphone for a week trying to answer all these questions.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 405 ppi, a screen-to-body ratio of 87.4% and an aspect ratio of 20:9.
Vibrant colors and brightness, as well as size, mean the A51 is very handy when watching video on the go.

The sunlight readability of the Galaxy A51 is really good. You won’t squint to read a text or see a photo on your phone.
The automatic brightness on the phone, however, is sometimes irritating. In brightly lit indoor spaces, the phone sometimes keeps switching between low and high brightness, which makes it really uncomfortable for the user.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 doesn’t really have a design that stands out, at least at first glance. However, when you pick it up for the first time, you will realize how light the device is – despite the 4000 mAh battery under the hood. It weighs 172 grams.
The smartphone is also very sleek, giving you a good grip even with that shiny back. The back of the Galaxy A51 looks like glass but feels like plastic (certainly not cheap), and that’s because Samsung used a material it calls “glass” for the back of the phone.

I used the phone for two weeks and carried it in a bag with keys and lipstick and chargers and a wallet that can easily scratch the phone. Still, the Galaxy A51 survived it all without a single scratch on its back.
The stains, however, were like clothes on the device I used. He wore them at all times. But the phone comes with a silicone mask, which can save the phone from scratches and stains in the long run.
The variant I reviewed comes in black, which is the most boring of them all. You should look for the blue variant.
Also included in the box are a pair of headphones that are made of plastic and must be cheap. The sound quality of these headphones is also quite poor. Basically, they’re just functional headphones that you can use as a backup.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 has a 48MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, along with a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens, a 5MP f/2.4 wide-angle lens, and a 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor.
In daylight, the smartphone takes great photos, with good color balance and exposure. The images also retain a lot of natural detail. I also liked the portrait mode edge detection on the rear camera. It’s really precise and doesn’t blur the oddly unruly baby hairs around your face. Portrait pictures look very natural.
Selfie pictures, for which the camera uses a 32 MP lens, are also quite good, but with the beauty mode turned off, you will see that the phone softens the focus a bit. The images are not as sharp as you see on the front camera.
The Galaxy A51 lets you shoot 2160p video at 30 fps and 1080p video at up to 120 fps. Video quality is also good, with good color balance and decent stabilization. However, this stabilization somehow does not work well when taking photos. You cannot get a clear picture if you are in a moving vehicle or your hands are shaking.

After dark, the A51 really struggles. Selfies taken at night are grainy and show poor colors. The exposure is also poor with barely visible details in the background. If you look at the pictures in the Flickr album below, you’ll notice that in some of the nighttime selfies, you can barely distinguish the dark background from my hair.
Night photography from the rear camera is better than that of the selfie camera, but it is still usable at best.

Face recognition on the phone is not very good. It really is a hit or miss affair. I found the in-display fingerprint sensor to be a much better option. It works faster (just put your registered finger on it). The fingerprint sensor works even when your hands are slightly wet.
Call quality is not very good on the device. Although sometimes I hear an echo that sometimes makes it hard to understand the caller.
The Galaxy A51 uses a 4000 mAh battery. In the box, you get a 15 W fast charger that charges your phone from 0 to 45 percent in about 40 minutes.
Fully charged, the phone easily lasts for almost two days if you use it for simple everyday tasks like using social media apps, taking notes and answering calls.

However, if you watch too many videos, the battery life may decrease by a day. It can become even shorter if you play graphic games for a long time.
The Galaxy A51 runs One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 and comes with Samsung Knox for security. The phone also supports Samsung Pay, which lets you simply tap and pay in stores instead of carrying your credit and debit cards.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 looks pretty good, especially in blue. It has a superb design. The phone also has a good daytime camera, but it struggles a bit with night photography. The phone’s battery lasts a long time and charges quite quickly.
The phone performs well, letting you play on medium settings, but the experience isn’t lag-free. The user interface of the Galaxy A51 is intuitive and smooth.
Compared to the competition, the A51 is not so bad. The A51 loses out in the gaming department and its night camera isn’t as good as the Redmi K20 Pro, but whether that matters to you or not is up to you.

Coming back to the question of whether it is better than the competition, the Galaxy A51 can lose to the Redmi K20 Pro only in the gaming section and a little in the night camera.
