An unlimited data plan is more or less what it sounds like. You get as much monthly data as you want to use on your mobile phone. But as with everything in life, there are pros and cons to choosing an unlimited data plan.

On the pro side, you’re obviously getting a ton of data. You don’t have to worry about running out and you won’t have to pay extra costs if you exceed your monthly data limit. On the other hand, an unlimited data plan won’t come cheap. If you’re not a heavy data user, you may find that a capped data plan will actually be cheaper for you.
Before you decide on an unlimited data plan, you’ll need to look at your average phone usage (using old bills or your phone’s data tracker) to see if it’s really worth it.
EE is one of the UK’s largest mobile operators and currently offers three unlimited data options. Note that these are for contract customers only (so PAYG customers won’t get unlimited data) and are only available on 12-month contracts:

Obviously, the initial limitation is that you have to commit to a 12-month contract, there are no short-term (1 month) unlimited data contracts available, and PAYG customers can’t get unlimited data either. But many carriers also put limits on their unlimited data plans when it comes to speed or the actual amount of data you can use. How does EE handle this?

There is a clear limitation when traveling abroad, as well as a slight limitation on connectivity (see the Roaming and modem connection section below). However, the main limitation of fair use is that this plan is for personal use only.
Therefore, you can use up to 1000 GB of data per month. Use more than that and EE will consider you a ‘commercial’ user and reserve the right to switch you to a business plan. The 1000GB limit is pretty high, so it shouldn’t be a problem for most people.
