Update The Umbrella Academy Funko Pop Klaus Review – The Dark Horse comic series got a live-action adaptation on Netflix and was a big hit last year. After a long wait we finally got to see the first wave.
Funko pop figures line up in stores. It seems like a long time passed between the show ending and the time we were able to get our hands on it. The most amazing thing is that it took a long time to get into the hands of collectors. Collectibles like this will make you want to run while the show is popular. But I can’t control that, and in the first place I’m happy that there are collectibles for this great show. Can’t wait to dive in.

Funko Pop! Umbrella Academy: Klaus Hargreeves Vinyl Figure For Sale Online
For those of you who don’t know the story, seven babies bought by a billionaire have supernatural powers and become fighting powers. The Netflix show is set a few years in the future, and that’s where the drama begins. There are a total of 13 Funko Pops in this release, including 2 Chases, one of which features an exclusive glow-in-the-dark version selected for Hot Topic. Each Umbrella Academy figure comes in the same packaging as the other Funko Pop boxes, but the design on the side is quite unique. Not only are there matching numbers on the sides, but there are quotes for each flat letter on the back.
The second part is about Klaus, Number Five and Ben. Number 7 i.e. 7 has already been mentioned. Vanya also received a special version of Funko Pop Chase. That review can be found here.
In the second part of the review we will look at numbers 4-6. One of them has a Chase variant, but we haven’t found it yet. I’ll look into it again when I find the elusive tracking. Also, keep an eye out for one of the characters that has a special glow-in-the-dark funko exclusive to the topic.
Let’s start with Klaus, the eccentric number four member of the Umbrella Academy. The side of his box features a large pink 4. The pink color shines in the white box, making this a package that stands out from other members. On the back of the box is the stern wording: “Temperance is overrated.” behind.

This figure is very flashy and brings the character to life straight from the screen. From the darkness around the eyes to the paint on the toenails. They really recreated Klaus’ cosmetics to perfection. I love that he even added an Umbrella Academy tattoo under his wrist. The words “Goodbye” are clearly visible on his hand. Funko has stepped up their game even further by revealing layers of pink scarves. It’s the details that count, and as Funko continues to refine their designs, they become more and more precise.
Now let’s look at number five. Number Five is also another Funko Pop figure that comes with a tracked version. His work is very simple, he just shows Number Five with a superhero mask on his head. He has a red number 5 on the side of the box and “He wants coffee” written on the back door.
This is a fairly basic Funko Pop figure, but I’ve added wrinkles to the body to give it a little more life instead of lifeless. The coffee and uniform design is perfect for the show. Of all the Umbrella Academy waves, Number Five and Luthor are the simplest designs. However, he is still a must-have collector’s item to complete the Umbrella Academy Collection set.
Funko Pop review is none other than Number 6, aka Ben. This figure has a minor release exclusive to Hot Topic and is a special figure that glows in the dark. We managed to get it ourselves, so we’ll take a look at that as well. Ben’s box is very plain, with a blue 6 on the side and the “Super Dead” quote on the back.

Ben has a unique vibe with varying levels of blue, making his character come alive. He stands with arms outstretched and tentacles coming out of his chest. His tentacles have a soft texture and he’s wearing a simple hoodie.
By switching to the exclusive version of Hot Topic he doesn’t change anything about the box except the sticker on the window. Looking at the figures, you can see that the texture of the character design itself has clearly improved. If you look at the pictures I took, you can see he has a dusty look. The glow from the figure itself is quite bright and can be clearly seen from across the room. This character is available online via Hot Topic here.
The Umbrella Academy Funko Pops are very well designed and crafted to perfection in every detail. It’s the little things that really matter and Funko have got it right with this set of figures. Funko is currently the only company supplying collectibles for the Umbrella Academy. It’s cheap and simple, making it a must-have for fans of the show. All of these are still available online and can be found here. Try your luck and get one of the chase! Or you can try your luck at retailers that sell Funko Pops like Hot Topic and GameStop. No doubt there will be more The Umbrella Academy Funko Pops if Season 2 comes out. It’s not a bad idea to lock up your stuff before it’s too late. Everything will be worth more when the second season arrives on Netflix in 2020.
