It will go on sale in the first week of March, sources told IANS on Monday. In a strategic development, the Galaxy M31 is also expected to be available at major retail stores, except Amazon.in and Samsung’s own online store. The Samsung Galaxy M31 uses a plastic body and has a glossy finish on the back. On the front, it has an AMOLED display with a teardrop notch.
Samsung Galaxy M31: The Good, The Bad, And The X Factor
The plastic construction is made to look like glass with the finish, but it sure doesn’t look like it.
This particular review unit received a few scratches on the rear panel during my use, but this is only noticeable upon close inspection. So I recommend you to use a case.
The back houses a quad camera setup with a rectangular camera module alongside the oval-shaped fingerprint sensor. The sides are curved in the frame and the edges are also curved.
In the front, the side collars are thin but the chin still stands out. The buttons are on the right side while there is a tray for two sims and a micro-sd.

At the bottom, we have a headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, a microphone and a speaker. While there is another microphone on top. Also, the earpiece is neatly stored on top of the notch.
The plastic build doesn’t feel premium though. It feels sturdy and solid. But it is prone to scratches. Thus, I would like a glass back that we see on the similar Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Ergonomically, I like the way it fits in the hand. It’s not slippery and I can use it with my hand. But it is not very easy to use with one hand. It will take some getting used to.
The Samsung Galaxy M31 has a 6.4-inch 1080×2340 (FHD+) AMOLED display. It’s a 60Hz panel with deep blacks and impressive color reproduction.
Samsung Galaxy M31 Review: The Go To Mid Range Smartphone
After my first impression, everything remains the same. The color is vivid and the contrast ratio is high. It’s perfect for YouTube, Netflix and gaming.
The screen is impressive for media consumption. But, it is not so bright under sunlight. If you want to take photos or watch content in a lot of sunlight, it will be a bit difficult.
The Always On Display works as always. You can customize it to some level. You can also choose different color modes for the display. If you like a more natural tone, you can opt for the Natural mode or, if not, the Vivid mode. You can also adjust the warmth and make the color temperature colorful or warm.
To be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of high megapixel sensors. I mean it’s great and all for capturing high detail, but I don’t find it really useful. After all, photos from our smartphones will only end up on social media.

So what we have with the Samsung Galaxy M31 is a 64MP main sensor with a pixel size of 0.8μm. It is quite a large sensor which helps the sensor reach more light. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy M31 takes good photos. But in typical Samsung fashion, it still retains similar camera processing to other mid-range Samsung phones.
