The Samsung Galaxy A50s features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. It runs on Android 9 Pie and is powered by Exynos 9611 processor. The phone comes in two variants: 4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. It has a 4000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging.
On the camera front, the phone has a triple rear camera. The setup includes a 48-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. On the front is a 32-megapixel camera for selfies. Samsung Galaxy A50 Update Adds Camera Improvements, May Android Security Patch
After the price cut, the base variant of the Samsung Galaxy A50 with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at Rs 18,490. The second variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is now priced at Rs 22,990.
The Samsung Galaxy A50 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ Infinity-U display with Samsung Super AMOLED resolution. The screen-to-body ratio of this device is 91.6%. The device is powered by an octa-core Exynos 9610 SoC.
The phone has a triple lens rear camera on the back. This set includes a 25-megapixel main camera with F1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 123-degree field of view, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with F2.2. For selfies, it has a 25-megapixel front-facing camera. The Galaxy A50 has a 4000 mAh battery, 15W fast charging technology and faster USB Type-C data transfer.

We’re skipping the teardown part of this review since we’ve only been given the device. However, looking at the list of accessories available for the Galaxy A30s, we expect you to get these accessories.
The Galaxy A50s is actually very similar to the A30s. It is really thin and has a very sharp side. It’s really stylish and with its thinness, it feels good in the hands.

Looking at the back of the phone, it also has diamond-paved bezel cutouts. Each “tab” has a different look, and is definitely unique in appearance. The Galaxy A50s is also available in a variety of colors, and I particularly liked Prism Crush Green, which reminds me of Prism Green from the Galaxy S10 series.
There are no surprises here. In short, the Galaxy A50s has 5GHz Wi-Fi for AC-WiFi connectivity (important for those Unifi Turbo users), has NFC and also has Samsung Pay compatibility. Yes, Samsung heard our cries and finally put Samsung Pay on the Galaxy A50s.
In terms of card slots, the Galaxy A50s has a total of three dedicated slots – two nano SIM card slots and a microSD card slot – all independent of each other.

Samsung has also placed all the buttons on the right side of the phone, which is in stark contrast to the flagship phones in the Galaxy Note 10 series. Maybe Samsung will reset the phone designs in the next generation.
Samsung Galaxy A50s Review
At the bottom of the Galaxy A50s is the audio jack, USB-C, microphone and speaker.
The fingerprint scanner is located below the screen and uses an optical sensor. Although I’m generally not a fan of under-display fingerprint scanners.
The Galaxy A50s has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution and an Infinity-V notch. The chin is larger than the forehead.
The colors and saturation of the Galaxy A50s are typical for Samsung. It’s bright and clear, and the blacks are deep, as any AMOLED screen should be. Samsung reserves the best technology and calibration for its phones.

While some may complain about the asymmetrical edges, I actually think it’s good to have a thicker chin. This allows me to easily reach the lower edges as the height decreases.
Therefore, in the regular camera list, the Galaxy A50s lacks a telephoto camera. But how are the Galaxy A50s cameras?

The main camera is pretty good overall. There’s no oversaturation or aggressive HDR, but some scenes are a bit understated for my taste.
A lot of blue color in all the photos I took. This is the first time I have experienced such a color difference in a Samsung mobile phone.
Saturation and contrast appear to be high, making images very sharp. However, it definitely adds some drama to the image.
Despite using the same One UI software base, Samsung has a line to differentiate its flagships from its mid-range. The Galaxy A50s looks the same, but some features have changed.

For example, the Galaxy A50s has what appears to be a “lightweight” version of the Edge panel here. The Edge Panel is one of my favorite features of the company’s flagship phones, but only a fraction of the features are found on the Galaxy A50s. There is no smart option to highlight certain parts of the screen and save it as a screenshot.
However, the Galaxy A50s comes with Windows Link, a feature that was previously available on the Galaxy Note 10 smartphones. It’s not a feature I personally use, but it’s there.
The performance of the Exynos 9611 chipset is almost similar to the Snapdragon 660 found in the Redmi Note 7. The Exynos 9611 has a slightly better CPU but a weaker overall GPU, as shown in the charts below.
Then comes the gaming experience on this phone. Benchmarks have already shown that the Exynos 9611 GPU is slightly lower than the Snapdragon 660.

And this is precisely the experience we also got with the Galaxy A50s. We tested the Honkai Impact 3 and for some reason it stutters a lot on the Galaxy A50. Asphalt 9 is a bit weird. Can go to high graphics settings but stutters, same with PUBG Mobile. PUBG Mobile works best on the lowest graphics settings with incredible frame rates.
The Galaxy A50s packs a relatively large 4,000 mAh battery, which should set a new standard for smartphone battery capacity. The Galaxy A50s lasted about 13 hours in our test, which is good for a full day of use. If you don’t play a lot of games, it will last you through the day.
The Samsung Galaxy A50s is also compatible with Samsung’s standard 15W fast charging. Since we have that charger around our charging station, we can try that as well.
Interestingly, the 15W fast charger isn’t much faster than the standard 10W charger we use all the time. Of course it is faster and has a significant difference, but not much.
