Update Price Of Samsung A50 Screen Review – Xiaomi Samsung launched the affordable Galaxy M-series and A-series smartphones this year as part of the company’s strategy to take on Realme and others on their own terms. Samsung is almost addressing every strategic price point between Rs. 8,000 drams to 20,000 in a short time. Sometimes there are many options due to the many models and options. The launch has been looming for a while now, and Samsung’s rivals have updated their offerings, so it’s inevitable that we’ll see some updated models from the Korean giant.
The price of the all-new Samsung Galaxy A50s starts at Rs. 22,999, which is a bit of a premium over the Galaxy A50 (review). Soon after the launch of the Redmi K20 (Review), it joined the party. Some other flagship-level phones have also seen price cuts in this segment. Which of these phones to buy with a budget of around Rs. 25000? We review the Samsung Galaxy A50s to find out.

The look and feel of the Samsung Galaxy A50s is nothing new. When I reviewed the Galaxy M20 ( Review ), one of Samsung’s strongest pushes, I commented on the overall feel and how it deviated from the company’s previous designs. Likewise, the Galaxy A50s could easily be confused with any of today’s popular brand phones

The front of this phone has a small notch for the camera at the top (this design is called “Infinity-U”). The corners of the screen are rounded and it has a relatively thick chin, while the sides and top bezels are narrower. The edges are slightly bent; It’s one of the few last-gen phones we’ve reviewed that doesn’t bother us, and we’re keen to note that the bezels don’t come with a plastic screen, which we appreciate.
On the back we have a touch of personality that Samsung has decided to display: a geometric pattern with cross-cut lines in the center, with different color shades in each area. Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White and Prism Crush Violet – Our review unit is the black version, but the back colors are different shades of gray.
This design isn’t as easy to pick up smudges and fingerprints as the Galaxy A50’s mirror-like finish, but it still needs to be cleaned a few times a day to keep it looking its best. Under certain lighting, the prismatic effect is still minimal; But it’s more subtle than the psychedelic reflections we’ve seen on this phone before.
The bottom has a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack and a speaker. The tray on the left has a slot for two Nano-SIMs as well as a microSD card. The power and volume buttons are on the right and the top is empty.

At just 166g and 7.7mm thick, the Galaxy A50s is surprisingly easy to handle. You have to stretch a bit to reach the top of the 6.4-inch screen; But otherwise, we have nothing to complain about. This phone is plastic and not very premium but the build quality is good. Also, it is not mentioned what kind of glass is used for display.
We didn’t see any scratches or dents on the bezel or back panel during our review, but we’ll be using this phone in a plastic case. Much obliged, One is included in the retail box. The first thing you’ll notice about this phone when you turn it on is the crystal clear Super AMOLED display. It measures 6.4 inches long, but if you measure with rounded corners, you’ll cut it to about 6.2 inches. The resolution is Full-HD + 1080×2340. There’s a notch at the top for the front-facing camera and an integrated conveniently placed fingerprint sensor.
Samsung uses its own octa-core Exynos 9611 processor; This is a minor upgrade to the Exynos 9610 found in the Galaxy A50. You get four 1.74GHz ARM Cortex-A53 cores and four 2.3GHz Cortex-A73 cores and Mali-G72 graphics. This chip has the previous processor, it has GPU and LTE capabilities, but supports higher camera resolutions.

That brings us to one big feature of this phone: its 48-megapixel f/2 primary rear camera. It is joined by an 8-megapixel f/2.2 wide-angle camera and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera has been upgraded with a 32-megapixel resolution and f/2 aperture.
The phone comes in two variants, but both come with 128GB of storage. The only difference is that you get 4GB for Rs. 22, 999 or 6GB RAM for Rs. 24, 999. This is similar to how Samsung is offering the Galaxy A50, and we don’t think it’s necessary to have two variants that are so similar. As long as you don’t play very heavy apps and games, you won’t see much of a difference.
The battery is 4,000 mAh and supports 15W fast charging, but a 10W charging cable can be included in the case. Bidirectional Wi-Fi 802.11ac; Bluetooth 5; GPS NFC and all FM radio stations are available.
Our unit came with Samsung’s One UI software version 1.5 running on top of Android 9 with the August 2019 security update. One UI is primarily designed for large-screen phones, and while it’s simple and modern, we’re not fans of big icons and wide spaces everywhere. Fortunately, you can adjust the size and density of the home screens and app drawers through their settings.

There’s a lot of room in the menus, and the big screen doesn’t feel like it’s being used well. Especially in the notification shade and the Settings app, which require a lot of scrolling. When you leave or enter a location; to connect an accessory; to open an application; All of these can be triggered at once when receiving a call and/or pairing with a specific Bluetooth device.
The Super AMOLED panel allows for ambient display, but the phone usually requires a single tap when the phone is in standby mode to view the time and status icons. You can set it to be visible all the time or only at certain intervals.

You also control what content is visible on the lock screen, as well as a selection of animated wallpapers or image collections to cycle through. Lock screen stories are snippets of content that appear every time you wake up your phone. Some are advertisements. It can be disabled during the initial Android installation process.
Samsung has decided to introduce its Edge Panels feature, which we have previously only seen on high-end phones. This thin visible tab can be placed on either side of the screen, you swipe it to open one or more vertical panels with shortcuts to contacts or apps, widgets or content streams. Additional edge panels can be downloaded through Samsung’s Galaxy Store.
There are only a few pre-installed apps. Facebook; Netflix OneDrive and Samsung’s Galaxy Store and Game Launcher. While we’re configuring these phones, please note that if you don’t use them for three days or more, they won’t update their content and you won’t receive some notifications. You can turn this off in the battery settings, but it’s worth noting that the default setting isn’t normal and can cause unexpected notification delays.
