Update My Hero Academia Funko Pops Review

Update My Hero Academia Funko Pops Review – My Hero Academia is having a big year, so it’s no surprise that the hit anime series is getting new Funko Pop releases. This isn’t the first time My Hero Academia has gotten the Funko Pop treatment, but this time around, the Pop lineup announced ahead of New York Toy Fair 2020 includes a few more villains than the last release. (Everyone knows that villains are way cooler than heroes. Sorry, Deku.) Kurogiri, Shigaraki, Himiko, Overhaul and Omnipotent, Best Jeanist, etc. heroes like are part of this new collection.

Deku is definitely getting a release too. It’s very unique and Deku in his schoolboy form U.A. High school minifigure. In addition to the figures, many other products are available for pre-order, such as keychains, mystery minis, and character-themed Pez dispensers. Some figurines are also unique to specialty stores. You’ll only be able to get the Mina Ashido figure at GameStop, the invisible Froppy mini at Hot Topic, the Endeavor figure at Amazon, and the Midnight Fantasy Pop at Galactic Toys.

Funko Pop has previously released Himiko Toga in her civilian outfit, but this is her first for her villainous outfit. It’s cute and badass, a perfect representation of Himiko.

Put On A Smile As Funko Reveals New My Hero Academia Pops

There are 12 mystery minis and you get one random mini for $6. Helmetless Ochako is a particularly attractive option with not one, but two Tsuyu Asui figurines.

This is the first Midnight Pop song released. We hope that other teachers will join these ranks in the future.

And of course, the main character of the series is also part of the new edition. It comes with a mini copy of the U.A. Middle school is very neat.

This is Overhaul’s first Pop release. Overhaul, the main villain of the series, has a very memorable design with his beak-like mask.

First up we have Creati and Red Riot, both 1A characters or incredibly detailed for them and just Pop vinyl figures. Breaking them apart, we’ll take a look at Red Riot first. I love the detail they put into these new Funko Pop molds and you can see a lot of character in these little figures. Red Riot sports dark red hair and wears heroic battle armor. If you look really close, you can also see the detail on his hand as Funko captured his awesomeness perfectly.

As for Kreati, she also adorns the hero’s outfit and is equipped with a bow of her own creation. What really stands out about her figure is her hair. Compared to the rest of Funko Pop, he was very lifelike and big, and I really enjoy the vibe of this figure. He’s too “big” for this little character, which matches the style of the character on the show.

Pop! Deluxe: My Hero Academia

Next up we have Chalice Collectibles exclusive Mirio Togata and Tokoyami Dark Shadow. First up is Tokoyami and Dark Shadow, who will be getting a GameStop exclusive Pop Tee option in the near future. These exclusives are set to release in December and you can pre-order them today.

This Tokoyami Funko is very detailed in character justice. With his bird face and long black coat, they really captured that aspect in the popular Funko format. I love the detail they put into Dark Shadow when wrapping Tokoyami’s corpse. You can even see some dark cutout style detailing on this sign and I love what they’ve done with it. I don’t think we’ll see much change in the metal version, but you can’t complain about the Funko Pop Tee.

Mirio Togata is up next with the exclusive Chalice Collectibles. This is the first exclusive with the new exclusive anti-counterfeiting sticker. The sticker cannot be removed without damaging the pop vinyl window. This is a great first step in spreading theft and fraud. Now for Funko itself it’s pretty simple but cute, the box is pretty plain except for the Chalice sticker and the cool Mirio icon on the bottom of the box.

Mirio is in a heroic uniform, not a heroic outfit. I’m sure we’ll see more from now on, but we only get it at UA and it goes well with this number. His eyes were something that many hoped Funko would get right, and they did. The blue Pacman eyes really give this character an A+ and many should be happy about it.

Finally, for the My Hero Academia characters, we enter the latest Hot Topic exclusive; Mount Lady. Unlike the rest of these figures, Mount Lady is a 6-inch Pop vinyl. Mount Lady is shot in a photo shoot style with a traditional anime style peace sign.

I love the color on his Pop vinyl, it’s colorful and easy on the eyes. Mount Lady is an interesting choice to make into a Funko pop character, she’s not big on the show, but I’m glad they’re choosing unique characters in that world. Also, I’m glad they made a 6 inch for him because his weirdness just keeps getting bigger. I can’t wait to see what other characters Funko has in store for us in the world

All of these Funko Pops do justice to their manga and anime counterparts. It’s great that Funko changed it and gave it a quirky character! I hope we start getting more students and Pro heroes
