The OnePlus 7T Pro has a huge, beautiful display, is the fastest phone by miles, and has an in-display fingerprint scanner that beats the competition. Photo: Samuel Gibbs/The Guardian.
It’s no surprise that the sequel to the best smartphone of the first half of 2019 is the best phone of 2019. The finished OnePlus 7T Pro is a minor upgrade to the OnePlus 7 Pro that retains all the goodies, improves the camera, and speeds up the fingerprint scanner.
The Monster’s 6.67-inch QHD+ AMOLED display clocks in at 90Hz (compared to 60Hz for most competitors) and is the best in the business. It’s bright, clean and super smooth with no pinholes or camera marks. The selfie camera pops up from the top on command – a constant crowd pleaser.
Best Android Phones (2022): Unlocked, Cheap, Foldable
The 7T Pro is the fastest phone ever – everything happens at once. It has Qualcomm’s best chip, the Snapdragon 855+, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of fast UFS3.0 storage, which is enough for practically everything. The in-display optical fingerprint scanner is faster than ever, putting the competition to shame.
The latest OxygenOS 10, the firm’s ultra-slick version of Android 10, is also the best in the business, giving you three years of fast updates.
The triple camera system on the back is also good, with a 48MP main, 16MP ultra-wide and 8MP telephoto lenses. The new 7T Pro has a super macro mode which is surprisingly good and takes sharp photos up to 2.5cm from the lens – great fun. The 7T Pro can’t beat the iPhone 11 Pro or the Pixel 4XL, but it matches or beats the others in terms of detail and usability.
The 7T Pro lasts about 32 hours between charges, making it one of the best. Charging is also very fast with the company’s Warp Charge system – 70% charge in just 34 minutes per cable. However, there is no wireless charging.
Sony Xperia 10 Iv Review: A Budget Phone Worth Buying
Dual SIM support is convenient for work or travel. It is somewhat water resistant, but does not have an IP rating. There is a McLaren limited edition and 5G version in the US, but not in the UK, where the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G is still the current model.
An unmatched display, blazing speed and an in-display fingerprint scanner combined with the sleek OxygenOS 10 make everyday tasks a joy. The massive OnePlus 7T Pro is worth noting.
Apple’s smallest new iPhone 11 Pro also has the best combination of size, screen, performance, battery life, size and camera. Photo: Samuel Gibbs/The Guardian.
Good things come in small packages. The iPhone 11 Pro isn’t Apple’s biggest or most expensive of 2019. of smartphones, but this is the best and almost the best phone of the year.
Nokia 3.4 Review: Problematic Performance
The iPhone 11 Pro combines a stunning, fairly large 5.8-inch display, a sleek, luxury-feeling body, top-notch performance and battery life to keep up with most of the competition.
In fact, the design is largely uncharged from the mold-breaking iPhone X from 2017. The back is now frosted glass, which looks especially good in silver, with a triple camera bump on the top left. The rest remains largely unchanged.
Apple’s Face ID is still the best, most supported facial recognition system in the business. The new A13 bionic chip continues to lead the market. The gesture navigation system is still one of the best, and you’re looking at nearly five years of iOS software updates from release – at least two more than any other manufacturer.
This year, the iPhone 11 Pro introduces a significantly improved triple camera with ultra-wide, wide-angle and telephoto lenses that match the best competitors in photography and surpass them in video. It now also has an effective night mode.
The Best Iphone 2022: Which Apple Phone Is For You?
That’s not all – memory from 64 GB is poor. It still has the old Lightning connector instead of the newer USB-C standard. There’s no 5G option and it’s insanely expensive – you don’t buy the iPhone 11 Pro looking for value for money. Also, iOS 13 has been a mixed bag since launch, with many bugs that need to be fixed.
But overall, no other phone can match the iPhone 11 Pro in terms of power, capabilities and size. The iPhone 11 Pro is the smallest phone you can buy and the best iOS performer.
If you want the best little phone, or just the best Apple phone, the iPhone 11 Pro is fantastic, but it costs a lot.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Review
If you want the Android sweet spot between a big, beautiful screen and a small phone size that’s easy to control and fit in your pocket, the Galaxy S10 is it.
The 6.1-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a small hole in the upper right corner is one of the best on the market and is big enough to make all apps and movies look great.
Smaller bezels make the phone quite compact compared to its competitors, and it’s also lighter. It’s still a sandwich of glass and metal, which means you might need a case to protect it from drops.
The Galaxy S10 was recently updated with Samsung’s new One UI 2 software based on the latest Android 10, including much improved navigation gestures. You should get about three years of software support from Samsung, though the company is generally slower than Google and OnePlus to deliver major Android updates.
Best Google Pixel Phone (2022): Which Model To Buy, Cases And Accessories, Feature Drops
The triple camera on the back is good, allowing you to zoom from 0.5x to 2x and go up to 10x hybrid zoom. It won’t beat the Pixel 4 XL or the iPhone 11 Pro, but it gets the job done. The selfie camera sticks perfectly to the screen and is one of the best on the market.
Performance is good but battery life is a bit weak, lasts a day but not much. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor mounted under the display has gotten a bit slow and clunky over time, which can be annoying.
A big-screen Android experience in a relatively small phone is the main selling point, but a good camera, performance and looks also help.
The Huawei P30 Pro features a big, beautiful display, long battery life and exceptional low-light performance, a game-changing camera with 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom. Photo: Samuel Gibbs/The Guardian.
How To Set Up Your New Android Phone (2022)
The best phone camera is the Huawei P30 Pro. Even at the end of the day in 2019, no other phone offers as comprehensive a package as Huawei’s new quad Leica camera.
The 20MP 0.6x ultra-wide-angle camera is fun, the 40MP main camera is amazing, and there’s also a new periscopic 5x optical zoom camera that gets you closer than any other smartphone. If the fivex zoom wasn’t enough, there’s a nice 10x hybrid zoom up top, and then up to 50x digital zoom. A 3D depth-sensing time-of-flight sensor completes the rear modules.
Apart from excellent zoom levels, the P30 Pro also has a low-light feature that instantly turns night into day without waiting a few seconds. The P30 Pro might not have the best Night Sight competitor, but for the most part, it just doesn’t need it.
The rest of the phone is also great with amazing color options. Large 6.47-inch FHD+ OLED
