I relied heavily on this external battery during my flight to Las Vegas as I spent most of my time answering emails and working on content.
As I mentioned, the battery couldn’t keep up with usage from the USB-C port, but my 13-inch Touch Bar MacBook was fully charged from the AC port. The downside is that you’re adding Apple’s large USB-C wall charger to an already powerful battery. Riding it all in a cramped airplane seat wasn’t exactly comfortable.

Overall, Power Station AC did an excellent job during my week at CES. I can’t say that any particular feature stands out, but that’s what you’d expect from a battery. It met my expectations and didn’t let me down when I needed it most.
All of my complaints revolve around the large footprint and high price. Mophie wants $199.95 for its latest battery, which is likely to be a tough pill for most consumers. Of note is the 30-watt output when connected to an outlet, albeit at twice the price compared to Anker’s $100 high-end 22.5-watt battery.
You must be willing to shell out the extra cash for an on-the-go solution for any device. It’s just not worth it for most. Nevertheless, Mophie convinces again with first-class design and first-class materials. Anyone willing to pay the premium price will be satisfied with the result.
