The LG C2 Evo OLED TV is an impressive follow-up to the company’s flagship C1, which was reviewed in 2021. Simply put, the LG C2 offers the best color accuracy we’ve ever seen in a box without calibration. It also has the lowest input lag measured on a TV, and has useful features like Apple AirPlay and hands-free access to some audio assistants. LG’s WebOS platform is still a little slow to navigate, but that’s our only complaint with an otherwise excellent player. The 65-inch model we tested is quite expensive at $2,499.99, but the LG C2 Evo still easily wins our Editors’ Choice award for OLED TV.

C2 is more elegant and minimalistic than C1. The panel is also bezel-less, with a thin strip of gray metal running along the edges, with less than a quarter-inch of black bezel between it and the active part of the screen. The panel itself is still very thin, around a quarter of an inch, although the rectangular enclosure for the electronic components on the back of the display grows to 1.8 inches thick. The C2 sits on a rectangular gray metal stand that is slightly narrower than the C1, but still holds the screen firmly. You can also mount the TV on a wall using a standard VESA mount.

The remote is the same curved, black, button-bearing stick we’ve seen with previous LG TVs, and it works well, if a little clunky. The remote control has a large circular navigation pad with a clickable scroll wheel in the middle that doubles as a confirmation button. Fortunately, the tension on the wheel is very firm, so it probably won’t accidentally turn when you want to press it. Above the navigation panel is a number pad, volume rocker and channel pedal. Dedicated buttons for Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, LG Channels and Netflix services, as well as buttons for Alexa and Google Assistant, are located under the navigation pad. The remote also has an accelerometer to control the on-screen cursor.
WebOS 22 is the latest iteration of LG’s smart TV platform, packed with features and a wide selection of apps. Although WebOS 22 offers a lot of features, it still looks clunky and clunky. The interface is occasionally slow to respond to remote inputs, especially when apps switch to the home screen. The color performance of the C2 is almost perfect. The images above show the measured color values of the TV using an SDR display in calibrated (light) ISF mode against Rec.709 broadcast standards and an HDR display in Cinema mode against DCI-P3 digital cinema standards. It conforms to Rec.709 values, which is great but still very common for most TVs. The big surprise is the DCI-P3 performance.
Out of the box, the C2 perfectly covers the full color space of digital cinema, and colors are off target. Some TVs are close to the performance level, but they often have some flaws – for example, the C1’s magentas are hot, while the TCL 6 Series’ yellows are a little off. The C2’s colors are as perfect as seen on a consumer TV. Until TVs begin to reach the wider Rec.2020 color space (which consumer content is not yet attached to), the C2 is the gold standard for uncompromised home theater accuracy.
Looks great on C2. The greens of the plants and the blueness of the sky and water look diverse, powerful and natural. Fine details like hair and bark are easy to see in bright light and shadow. However, horizontal pans tend to look a little jerky on the TV when in Cinema mode with the default setting.
