Update 65 Inch Samsung Oled Tv Review

Update 65 Inch Samsung Oled Tv Review – It looks like prices for 34-inch ultra-wide QD-OLED TVs haven’t been a hit, as even Samsung’s 55-inch and 65-inch QD-OLED TVs seem to be lower than expected. According to a leak from Amazon, Samsung’s new TVs will cost even less than LG’s C2 OLED TVs.

HDTVTest reports that Amazon has leaked pricing and availability information on highly anticipated Samsung TVs with QD-OLED displays. Although the new QD-OLED product pages do not show up in Amazon search results, they can still be found via direct links. Unfortunately, Amazon removed prices and shipping dates in the meantime, but nothing gets lost on the internet these days. Earlier this year at CES, Samsung apparently stole the show with its QD-OLED displays, which seemed significantly brighter than LG’s competitors, but there were rumors that this new technology could cost an arm and a leg to launch. Judging by the leaks from Amazon, this is no longer the case, and competition in the OLED display market will intensify this year.

The Samsung screen model number leaked on Amazon is S95B. As previously announced at CES, only 65-inch and 55-inch models (plus 34-inch ultra-wide screens for desktop monitors) will be available. Pricing is no longer displayed, but the HDTVTest video shows a $2197.99 mark for the 55″ model, while the 65″ model should be $2997.99, which is significantly cheaper than the estimated prices extrapolated from Korean market. These two models are expected to go on sale on April 11th, possibly earlier than the Sony A95K’s high-end screen.

From what we see in the product photos provided by Amazon, the S95B models do not come with an external One Connect Box like high-end LED screens do, and all ports are located on the back of the screen. Speaking of ports, these screens combine 4 HDMI 2.1 connections with a full bandwidth of 48Gbps and a possible maximum screen refresh rate of 144Hz, making them more suitable for PC and console use compared to the Sony A95K. However, Samsung models do not come with a dedicated heatsink for higher peak brightness and may not support Dolby Vision.

Samsung models are estimated to be $1,000 lower compared to Sony’s high-end 2022 screens and $100-$500 lower than LG C2 displays.

I first got into the wonderful world of IT&C when I was about seven years old. I was instantly fascinated by computerized graphics, whether from games or 3D applications like 3D Max. I am also an avid sci-fi reader, astrophysics fanatic, and cryptocurrency fanatic. I started writing PC articles for Softpedia and several blogs back in 2006. I joined the team in the summer of 2017 and am currently a senior technical writer covering mainly CPU, GPU and laptop news. It’s hard to put into words how well QD OLED – Samsung’s new and improved OLED technology – compares to other 4K TV options. I love the LG C2 and have had a lot of experience with mini LED technology, but right now there is nothing that can match brightness, color depth, color accuracy and pixel response time quite like QD OLED.

While using a Sony panel is still my favorite, Samsung makes a solid foundation for itself, hitting the same high bar for image quality and only charging you half of Sony’s asking price.

OLED panels have spoiled me when it comes to design, and the S95B is a perfect example of why: it looks great from every angle. On the front, a beautiful thin bezel and narrow bezels make everything you look at the star of the show. On the sides, the “brains” of the TV fit well in a small rectangular panel, which also houses the ports.

On that note, the S95B has four HDMI ports that support 4K at 120Hz (true HDMI 2.1 and one supports eARC), two USB ports, an optical port, coax, and Ethernet.

Samsung also did a great job with cable management on this model, and this is the first time I can say that about a Samsung display. Cables are neatly fed into a box that leads them behind the kickstand and underneath, where a nice plastic panel slides over the top and slides seamlessly into the back of the display. Once you’ve got everything set up and all the cables in place, all you’ll see is the display and a pretty nice stand.

Speaking of the stand, it’s not particularly heavy, unlike the behemoth that the Sony A95K supports, and it has a unique locking mechanism that doesn’t use screws to attach to the back of the panel. It’s simple and solid, looks nice, and raises the TV high enough above the media console to easily accommodate a large number of soundbars (which you’ll need, more on that later).

The remote is identical to the one that came with the QN90B which I also tested and I can say the same about it. It’s small but not too small, thin but not too thin, and has a charger on the back that eliminates the need for AA or AAA batteries, a feature I really like.

Simple, since many buttons perform a double function, and they are not so easy to distinguish. If you’re tech savvy, you’ll figure it out, but I bet my dad struggled to figure out how to operate the TV unaided. For example, to access the Game bar – Samsung’s excellent info bar for gaming features – you need to hold down the play/pause button.

I like that all the buttons, including the shortcut buttons, are the same color, which means the remote doesn’t look like it’s constantly advertising to me. My test model came with Samsung TV Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ labels.

If you’ve read my reviews before, then you know that I’m not a big fan of Samsung’s Tizen operating system, and that’s where it stays. Tizen is slow, constantly trying to auto-play content, and in many cases doesn’t respond the way you’d expect.

Right out of the box, for example, the S95B didn’t have a gaming menu at all, which struck me as odd given how valuable direct access to gaming cloud options is. But as soon as I connected my computer, suddenly the game menu appeared. Also, after I plugged in a PC or PlayStation 5, Tizen said it was going to display that resource and then brought me back to the main screen, forcing me to re-select that resource in the menu.

As I mentioned in my QN90B review, by default, Samsung will try to shove Samsung TV Plus down your throat at every opportunity. If you leave the remote idle for too long, it will automatically start playing the channel from the main screen. If you try to move it to another location, it will also try to start it automatically. The only recourse I could find was to leave the remote on the “all apps” option, which blessed me with sweet silence.

Another issue I’ve run into with Tizen is the lack of image options. The S95B only offers the choice between Dynamic, Standard, Cinema and Filmmaker for standard content, and Entertainment and Graphic for a connected PC. For all of these settings, attempting to fine-tune beyond their defaults is quite limited, with some very basic settings for brightness, contrast, and hue. Another QD OLED I’ve tested, the Sony A95K, offers a lot of options that make this display suitable for a wide range of tasks, while the Samsung only seems to support basic TV viewing. Although, to be honest, for most it will be fine.
