The 12 Days of Christmas is a tradition I started a few years ago with my husband to show him a little extra love around the holidays by surprising him with 12 little gifts every 12 days until Christmas…13th-24th December. And it’s one of our favorite Christmas traditions!

My 1 tip to make this whole experience free (and more fun for you) is to plan ahead. Don’t wait, don’t wait until the day before to buy any “12 day” gift. Sit down, make a list of 12 small gifts and go to the store and buy them.

1. Have fun. When I first started the 12 Days of Christmas, we were newlyweds… married only 3 months! So, I got really big and wrote cheesy poems to go with each gift. I have everything! I took card #1 and wrote on the back:
It was a lot of fun, but it became more fun coming up with the songs. I’ll have that on a nut bag (of course)…..

How Many Gifts In 12 Days Of Christmas
I kept it on the table, and every day when I put a gift in it, I raised the little flag to indicate that it was filled with something.
Sometimes it’s fun to wait until the end of the day to submit something and raise the flag. Mainly because
Watching my husband walk across the table 50 times a day secretly trying to see if the flag was raised.
Don’t expect to find a mailbox or anything. One year, it’s fun just leaving gifts in different places at different times of the day.
