With the Redmi Note 10 Pro, Xiaomi has managed to create a globally successful mid-range phone by focusing on the display. Mid-range competition will have a hard time beating this package of features at an MSRP under €280 (~$336).
Just last year, Xiaomi defined the display standard for the mid-range with the AMOLED panels of the Mi 10 Lite and Mi Note 10 Lite. Again this year, the Chinese manufacturer offers an above-average panel in the affordable range with the Redmi Note 10 Pro, and it’s not just the spec sheet that’s compelling.
Redmi Note 10 Pro
Xiaomi uses a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate on its mid-range phone. Furthermore, the Chinese manufacturer specifies a maximum brightness of 1,200 nits for the Redmi Note 10 Pro, although these specifications were not reached in our measurements (653 cd/m², APL50: 991 cd/m²). As with any OLED display, the AMOLED dot display on the Redmi smartphone completely blocks off individual pixels, resulting in “total” blacks and contrast that theoretically goes to infinity. In our screen measurements with CalMAN software and a spectrometer, the Xiaomi smartphone’s panel proves to be very well calibrated and offers very low color deviations from the sRGB color space.
Using the Redmi Note 10 Pro not only benefits from a high refresh rate of 120 Hz, but also from a sampling rate of 240 Hz. As a result, the capacitive multi-touch screen is monitored by clicking 240 times per second (for example in games). Xiaomi phones can be controlled in an equally precise manner.
In addition to the AMOLED dot screen, the Redmi Note 10 Pro boasts a very good mid-range camera, a fast and reliable fingerprint reader and good battery life even in 120Hz mode, especially since charging is super fast. 33 watt power adapter included.
We couldn’t find too many weaknesses in the Redmi smartphone compared to the Note 10 Pro’s price range. However, the cheap mid-range phone has some criticisms. Our Xiaomi smartphone review reveals the improvements we saw in the Redmi Note 10 Pro.
