Xiaomi Mi 11t Pro 5g – Xiaomi’s T series has always combined the best features of its flagship models at a lower price. The Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro also have to manage this balancing act and are available from €499. Can the Pro version satisfy its hardware in daily use? In this test, we took a closer look at the smartphone for you.

On the occasion of the Cinemagic event, we were able to test the 11T series for you in early September. The devices are now available and can be ordered. The Xiaomi 11T starts at €549.90 RRP (8 + 128 GB), * the larger storage variant costs €599.90 RRP (8 + 256 GB). The Xiaomi 11T Pro is priced at €649.90 RRP (8 + 128 GB), with the 8 + 256 GB smartphone then €699.90 RRP*.

In addition to the smartphone, the scope of delivery includes a SIM tool, a 120 W HyperCharge power supply unit, including a USB-C to USB-A cable and a transparent protective cover. In addition, the Xiaomi 11T (Pro) comes with a built-in screen protector. There’s even a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter for analog cable friends.

We would like to mention the Xiaomi Mi 9T (Pro) which offers a very attractive design in both blue and red colors. In contrast, with the successor Mi 10T (Pro), the look is a little more simplified. The new Xiaomi 11T Pro – now without the “Mi” moniker – is also based on a very striking exterior.

A nice matte aluminum frame is used, but Xiaomi uses glossy glass on the back – at least on the black version. The appearance of the washer on the bottom is good, but fingerprints are drawn to the surface. We would have liked a slightly better matte finish, but ultimately design is, as always, a matter of personal taste. Alternatively, Xiaomi offers the smartphone in classic white or sky blue.

Weighing 204 grams, the Xiaomi 11T Pro is also not very light, and the thickness of 8.8 mm is not really “super thin”, but thanks to the rounded sides of the glass back, the smartphone is very comfortable to hold. But because of the shiny surface, it will fall out of your hands very quickly. It is better to use the provided case, then the Xiaomi 11T Pro is not only better protected, but also has a better grip.

The performance of the Xiaomi 11T Pro is at a high level, the device makes a very strong impression. Only the back makes us feel that there is plastic in front of us. But perhaps the back of the fabric, like the Xiaomi Mi 11, Oppo Find X3 Pro or Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, spoiled us. It seems that IP certification is also reserved for high-end models, as the Xiaomi 11T Pro is not officially waterproof.

To the right of the power button for unlocking is the fingerprint sensor, with the volume rocker directly above it. What sets the smartphone apart from competing models is the infrared transmitter on top – you can use it to control TVs, speakers or air conditioning. Otherwise, Xiaomi has given the 11T Pro two speaker openings at the top and bottom, and of course a USB-C port for charging – and these two features in particular will make things even more interesting.

The large 6.67-inch AMOLED on the front, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus, has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels in Full HD+ format and is said to achieve up to 1000 nits of brightness. With the X-Rite i1 Display Pro display profile, we were able to measure about 730 nits with a full white screen (100% APL), and the brightness increased to a maximum of 930 nits with a reduced aspect ratio (20% APL). . There’s also an increased refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, which ensures a beautifully smooth display of content or motion animations.

Xiaomi has done a good job with color calibration, the display offers vivid colors and white balance. If you still don’t like the factory settings, you have some tweaking options in the settings. In addition to three color profiles (bright, saturated, standard), there are also three color space profiles (original, P3, sRGB) and “fine tuning” of the RGB color space and the HSV color space. You can also enable “adaptive colors” for ambient light-adjusted white balance.

In addition, Xiaomi introduced four interesting features to the 11T Pro in the form of “AI image engine”. For example, videos with “higher resolution” can be upscaled and therefore displayed faster. AI Image Enhancement can enhance your images by recognizing and dynamically adjusting objects (such as animals, plants, buildings). There is also “AI HDR Enhancement” for better HDR effects for videos and “MEMC” for video frame interpolation at higher frame rates.

Xiaomi 11t Pro Unboxing And First Impressions

The Xiaomi 11T Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 888 (the benchmark for all Snapdragon SoCs), except for the slightly more powerful Plus model, Qualcomm’s flagship SoC. For the “Non-Pro” version, Xiaomi relies on Dimensity 1200 Ultra from MediaTek, which performs at the same level. In addition, the Xiaomi 11T Pro will receive approximately 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM according to the UFS 3.1 standard and an additional 128/256 GB of internal memory. The ship also has 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC for mobile payments.

The display is convincing both in everyday use and in somewhat demanding scenarios such as graphics-intensive games. The Snapdragon SoC is full power and 8GB of RAM is enough. However, it should be noted that the 11T Pro runs slightly hotter than other smartphones with this SoC. However, this is not particularly annoying in daily use and only becomes apparent during long periods of full charge, i.e. benchmarks or games.

As an Android 11 operating system with MIUI 12.5 user interface, it not only looks modern (for now) but also has high speed. However, some bloatware is installed on older jobs, which shouldn’t be alone – but at least it can be installed. By the way: Xiaomi promises three Android updates and four years of security updates for the 11T Pro.

The 11T Pro also features stereo speakers developed in collaboration with Harman Kardon. While many manufacturers use the earpiece above the display, that is, a narrow strip for calls, as a second speaker, Xiaomi has chosen a special output above the smartphone. In addition, Dolby Atmos sound adjustment is used. Finally, this combination gives a very impressive sound – for a smartphone.

The battery in the Xiaomi 11T Pro is huge at 5000 mAh and thus offers a long battery life. In fact, the smartphone can achieve 8 hours and 39 minutes in the PCMark battery test (Cor 3.0) with a constant screen brightness of 300 nits, adaptation at 120 Hz and WLAN and GPS enabled (up to 20% of the remaining charge). ). It’s not a huge result, especially considering the battery capacity, but it will get you through at least one day.

But the highlight is the HyperCharge technology that powers the Xiaomi 11T Pro. Full power of 120 watts (20.0 volts / 6 amps) from the bulk power supply goes to the two-cell graphene battery via the USB-C connector. According to Xiaomi, the smartphone should be fully charged in less than 20 minutes (!). Xiaomi’s promised 17 minutes is not always kept in our test, but at less than 20 minutes it is currently the leader compared to the competition.

With such an indicator, the power supply is definitely a bit large, we measured it: 28 mm thick, 60 mm wide, 100 mm long and 199 grams “light”. Although it is as heavy as a second smartphone, it has a practical advantage, especially for users of various devices: you only need one power supply unit. Because 120-watt laptop, tablet and Co. can also be re-powered, meaning their power sources can stay directly at home – provided the devices are charged via USB-C.

But with this kind of performance, what about security and battery life? According to Xiaomi, the aircraft has 34 safety features and TÜV Rheinland has also certified the technology. In addition, at least 800 charge cycles should be possible before the battery capacity decreases by 20%. Of course, the power adapter gets a little hot while charging, but we can only measure a maximum temperature of 43 °C with the thermal imaging camera.

Xiaomi 11t Pro Im Test: Das Bessere Mi Flaggschiff?

For the triple camera on the back, Xiaomi claims to be inspired by the cassette design. Compared to straight and rectangular bars, the design chosen here is actually a bit more imaginative. A good detail is the red dot located in a symmetrical line with the flash and letters of the AI 108 MP camera. As you can already imagine: Yes, the Xiaomi 11T Pro has a 108-megapixel main sensor, specifically Samsung Isocell HM2 with 1/1.52″ and ƒ/1.75 is used.

We already know the Motorola Edge 20 Pro (test) sensor, for example, it is the “little sister” of the Isocell HM1 (test Galaxy S20 Ultra) and Isocell HM3 (test Galaxy S21 Ultra). Additionally, the 11T Pro gets an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 120° field of view and a 5MP macro telephoto camera with 2x optics.
