Both linked to the past, The Elder Scrolls: The Cause is about reviving the cult of the Legendary Dawn from Oblivion and trying to open a new gateway to the Daedric world. Ghosts of the Tribunal takes place (mostly) in Solstheim and offers weapons and armor from Morrowind as rewards.

Oblivion was my first Elder Scrolls game, so naturally I tackled The Cause first. This, like many other quests, begins with Skyrim’s relentless courier running up to you and stuffing a ticket into your pants. It’s a confessional letter from a former member of the revived Legendary Dawn cult, and after following his instructions, you’ll find yourself being let down by several angry cult members. One of them carries a note and another note that takes you to another place where you fight a cult.
Both of the new Skyrim AE quests rely almost entirely on notes, journals, and letters to tell much of their story. Usually at each stage of the quests you will either find a note, find a dead body with a note, or turn a living person into a dead body and then find a note. There are even living characters that you can’t kill that will greet you and then message you rather than talking to you. This is obviously done so we don’t have to use actors to record new voice lines for these missions, but it starts to get weird after a while. It’s weird to meet a quest hero who gives you a 10-page letter about what he wants from you instead of explaining it out loud.
Fortunately, the writing in these letters is very good and many of them are really interesting. I especially enjoyed reading the Legendary Dawn Journals as they try to open and unlock the Oblivion Gate – but they have a hard time doing it. They had a limb defect and everything was spilled, the Stendarr Vigils (basically the religious police) were all at work and the gate they were trying to open was underground, so the mining process was full of mishaps. , monster attacks and the death of many cult members. There is something interesting to me about the devil’s master plan.
I was so amused by the writings of the cult when I read the journal found on the corpse of a Stendarr Vigil member. It’s an interesting read – Vigil follows a series of suspected cult members, watching where they go, breaking into their homes and looking for signs of belonging to the legendary dawn. Detective stuff.
Skyrim Anniversary Edition: What Does It Actually Include?
If I’m shadowing suspected cultists, lurking around and watching what they’re doing all day, waiting for them to leave their houses, then going in and shooting things up and arresting them myself How good would this task be if I did? Instead, I read about it. It’s a fun magazine, but I felt a little left out of the real adventure.
In the Morrowind quest (which takes place in Solthsteim), you can briefly follow the guard to see where he’s going, but he only travels about fifty feet in a straight line, and doesn’t satisfy the want part of me. Become a Skyrim detective. In this quest, you are on the trail of a heretic who is trying to enchant a dwemer weapon with a mysterious gem for the last time, which will lead you (after a few more notes) to an underground temple, where you can either help him or harm him. heretics. It’s, yes, a bit more extensive than Oblivion’s quest as you wander around Solthsteim (and back to Skyrim at the same time) collecting lots of missing artifacts (awesome masks) and gems to complete the weapon magic detailed in the note . found in the body.
Most of these quest areas are underground, which makes sense because adding new world locations is more complicated than sample dungeons, but they’re well-designed and compact enough that they don’t get lost when following quest markers. There are some light puzzles (notes may give you hints or solutions). Fortunately, both quests allow you to dress up in cult or heretic garb and roam freely among other members, which is at least somewhat like being an undercover detective.
I love Oblivion, so I’m excited to see people wearing the Legendary Dawn again in The Cause, and even seeing Oblivion’s gate is enough to make me happy. I didn’t find Ghosts of the Tribunal nearly as interesting, but there are more rewards in the form of cool masks and it takes you further around the map.
Skyrim Anniversary Edition’s New Quests Are Good, But The Best Parts Are Hidden In Journals
I’m not sure these two quests alone justify the price of Skyrim Anniversary Edition if you’re considering buying it. But they’re great quests that will give anyone a few extra hours of adventure if you don’t mind a lot of reading.

Skyrim: Every New Unique Weapon In Anniversary Edition (and Where To Find Them)
Bethesda has shared several updates and creations coming with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition, including new quests like Saints and Seducers, Morrowind weapons and armor, and a new fishing and survival mode.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition will be released on November 11, 2021, and will include all previously released Creation Club content, new creations such as Ghosts of the Tribunal and The Cause, and four free creations also available to Special Edition owners. , including Saints and Seducers, Rare Curios, Survival Mode and Fishing.
As mentioned above, the Anniversary Edition includes several new creations for players to try out, adding new quests, weapons, armor, items, and more. Those who own the Skyrim Special Edition can unlock all of these benefits and more for an as-yet-undisclosed additional cost.
Saints and Tempters showcases the greatest content ever put into a single creation. It features a new story, new armors and expansions, artifacts, enemies, and more.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Update 1.23 Available, Patch Notes
This Creation will see the arrival of Khajiit caravans to the cities and surrounding areas, “rarely imported from the far reaches of Tariel”. These ingredients allow players to create new potions, bullets, and poisons. There will even be rare Ayleid-produced stones that can be obtained, such as the Erroneous Varla Stone and the Welkynd Stone.
For those looking for a bit more of a challenge, Skyrim’s Crafting Survival Mode is an “immersive challenge” that tests players by forcing them to warm up in the cold, keep their bellies full, and not succumb to fatigue. To survive, players must weave, trap, cook and clean.
Fishing will now be a part of Skyrim, with over 20 unique water species just waiting to be caught. Once caught, these fish can be cooked, displayed as trophies, or used as aquarium pets. There will also be fishing quests and these fishing spots will take you to the most beautiful places on the map.
Ghosts of the Tribunal allows players to find more than a dozen weapons and armor included in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

In “The Cause”, players will have to fight against the “Legendary Dawn” group, who are trying to create a new Oblivion Gate. This new content includes new enemies, locations, weapons, and even a magical Daedric horse.
Bethesda will be detailing the next-gen update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in the near future, but it was previously revealed that a free next-gen update is available for those playing on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.
