Her post quickly went viral, prompting a series of angry calls to the Brenham Police Department and Washington County Animal Control.
A local woman later claimed that the animal in the photo was actually her pet named Tiger, and police are investigating the matter.

However, a statement posted on the Washington Animal Clinic’s Facebook page read: “We have now become aware of the behavior discussed below.
“We parted ways with Mrs. Lindsey. We do not condone this type of behavior and condemn it in the strongest possible terms.
“Please know that when we learned of this, we responded quickly and appropriately, and please do not attribute this egregious behavior to the Washington Animal Clinic or its staff.”

Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes said deputies are investigating the incident and will discuss filing charges with prosecutors.
“This should not happen in our society,” Brandes said. “It is something very sad. Hopefully, we’ll get to the bottom of it and find out the truth, 100 per cent of the truth, and take it to the prosecutor’s office and put it in their hands if they have to move forward.”
