At the head of this campaign against mutants is Senator Robert Kelly, who thinks that mutants should be registered and their powers defined, so they can be monitored and controlled. Two people watch him and his strain closely and they are Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellan). Xavier runs a special school for mutants who want to be on the good side, while Magneto wants to destroy humans and take control of the world. As you can imagine, these two have a lot of issues to work through and it won’t be easy But when Magneto devises a plan to satisfy the wants and needs of Xavier’s new apprentice, can Xavier and his original crew save the day?
Tensions between mutants and humans continue with Magneto (Ian McKellan) behind bars. The situation has reached a new level due to the assassination attempt on the President of the United States. Assassins seem to have the power of interaction, which turns more humans against their cause Many people, including those in power, have begun promoting mutual registration laws again, but some, like General William Stryker (Brian Cox), have more drastic measures in mind. Stryker wants to destroy mutants completely to ensure safety for humans He is rumored to have been involved in some top secret projects, some of which involved interactive experiments, perhaps also known as Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). Meanwhile, Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) tries to figure things out and continue his school for mutants. When Stryker attacks his school, Xavier also sees the need for some sort of action This leads to a friendship of sorts with Magneto, who has escaped from his special prison They make a wonderful couple, but they have no real choice with each other on the line
Review: ‘x Men: Apocalypse’ Satisfies In Superhero Summer
A line in the sand is drawn as tensions rise between the humans and several mutant populations Led by Magneto (Ian McKellen), a group of fanatical mutants lie in wait and plan an attack on humanity. However, they feel as if humans are an inferior species and they do not want to be enlisted or forced to register themselves Magneto’s anger quickly escalates from discussion to action, when a pharmaceutical company announces that they have developed a cure for mutants. A needle and mutants turn into normal people, which amuses some, but doesn’t end Magneto. Meanwhile, Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) leads his group of mutants, but he wants peace and normalcy. The death of Jean Gray (Famke Jones) has left Xavier’s group at a low ebb, but when he suddenly returns, things aren’t as easy as expected. Gray East and soon calm and peaceful, he is sought out by Xavier and Magneto, though for completely different purposes. When the two find him at the same time, his incredible power reaches epic levels and Xavier is killed in the process. Magneto quickly attacks a facility offering mutant cures, seeking revenge against the government.
I didn’t expect to see the first X-Men movie when the 4K box came out, but I love those movies. That and I saw them a long time ago and thought to myself “…this could really benefit from a new 4K transfer.” (Yes, I really do – what can I say, I love these things). Yes, my prayers and others have been answered The question is, how good does it look? Since my site isn’t really set up for multiple ratings in one review, I’m forced to post a video rating, but based on three movies. To counter this I will describe each film individually, which may say less than the overall score
Who started it 2.35:1 HEVC 4K images showed immediate benefits Right off the bat, I noticed a clarity and clarity that wasn’t there on Blu-ray Colors looked brighter and more vibrant and darker and more gritty as seen with the Magneto character. HDR, no doubt, is responsible for this As before, there are only more details Everything looks fast paced and it gives the movie a great look and feel
The latest entry in the trilogy is Best View of the Bench We are treated to a visual series of scenes that show what 4K really is In the final sequence in which Wolverine’s skin burns and regenerates, the dark phoenix “Aru” and Kelsey Grammer’s blue beast on the beast. Technology has come a long way in the short years since the first movie came out It has the same sheen and veneer that some of today’s cutting-edge 4K movies have Color depth has improved since the first Blu-ray
As with the video presentation for all three films, the audio can best be described as a missed opportunity Although they don’t look bad, it would have been a real treat for everyone to get the new Dolby Atmos mix (or DTS X, I’d be better off too), but alas, the DTS HD Master Audio mix. Available on Blu-ray here Each film showcases scenes that truly showcase the dynamic quality of the film Right down to Wolverine’s claws and some epic fight scenes Active all around, LFE has some selectable moments and transmits front-end movies well. Nothing to really complain about since we’ve all heard it before, but it would be a real treat to have a next-gen soundtrack in this movie.
Again, I guess we can’t complain, but nothing new has been added to these discs. Each 4K movie has an audio commentary with the remaining extras found on its Blu-ray counterpart.
