Advent calendars are the case anyway. If you pick one up in mid-December, you’re really late to the party. So maybe it’s a good thing that LEGO has now revealed the 75340 Star Wars Advent Calendar. You know, so we can prepare.
The 329-piece set will be available on September 1 at the online LEGO Store for US$49.99. $59.99 Can | UK £29.99. We’ll still be doing a daily Advent presentation in December, but if you don’t mind spoilers you can see everything inside this calendar now!

Lego Marvel Superheroes 76231 Guardians Of The Galaxy Advent Calendar
It’s a given that the package art has to spoil some of the advent calendar’s surprises. Sadly, however, they decided that all the big revelations would be front and center. We get to see both ugly Christmas sweats – and Darth Vader’s beach vacation. I felt the need to sell this device, though, and I think you need to appeal to every customer.
The back of the box is the one with the rest of the small remains floating in the ice. In fact, apart from the front of the box, you can see 24 of the 24 gifts per day. I am sure they will add more if they can.
Like all LEGO calendars, the box has a foldable lid to act as a play/display space. The daily gates are integrated into a winter scene in which Santa walks through the village. R2 and 3Po also appear decked out in their period costumes. Darth Vader feels out of place in a summer top and swimsuit. Fair enough, since it’s never been confirmed by hardcode.
Each of these doors has a small picture showing how the gift of the day is made. As with our Marvel Super Heroes 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar review, we won’t be breaking down the mystery building every day. Instead, you get a snapshot of all the days in one big pile. Merry Christmas!

Like the upcoming LEGO calendar, daily gifts can be grouped into similar themes. We’ll start by looking at the fleet of microscopes – a magnificent fleet of nine cars. First up is the V-35 Landspeeder, Luke’s X-34 Landspeeder, and the Republic Gunship. We last saw the LEGO V-35 in the 75290 Mos Eisely Cantina set, and we’ve seen collector series editions of both the gunship and the X-34 this year.
Next we see a Climator class cruiser, a beach shuttle, and a T-16 Skyhopper. Of these, the Acclimator looks like the weakest build, especially considering it’s an ARC-170 Starfighter as listed in the product description on LEGO.com. It can be thought of as a different vessel. My Star Wars knowledge isn’t encyclopedic, so if there’s a better ID, let us know in the comments!
We wrap up the mini-ship with the Droid Tri-Fighter, TIE Interceptor, and B-Wing. I have to put a B-Wing stand made from other parts of this picture into the picture – it won’t stand on its own. Also, the TIE transmitter is unbalanced and leans at an odd angle when not “in use”.
The following groupings are all small buildings directly related to the Restoration Empire and the Battle on Hoth. We get a beautiful AT-ST, as well as defensive arrows and a laser cannon. We know the AT-ST is a Hoth model because of the modified 2×2 white plate. If it comes from Endor, it will be green.

Before we get to the miniatures, there are three daily buildings that act as miniature toys. The Wampa’s White Cave is another view from Hoth, complete with a delicious bone and a mounting point to hang a helpless Luke Skywalker. And what would the next Star Wars calendar be without an ammo rack and a stud shooter? It appears to be based on the iconic scene from A New Hope, complete with the construction of a tiny mouse droid. (Two, actually, when you get an extra copy of both the 1×1 black tile and the skate stuff.)
It’s not really small, but it doesn’t fit into any other category, it’s the humidity of Tatooine. Added here for completeness. More interesting is Darth Vader’s sandcastle-style castle, complete with shovel and bucket. This is Finn’s built-in exclusive viewing program for Disney+.
In my experience, most fans come to the Star Wars Advent Calendar looking for the miniatures. This year there are eight, three of which are special holiday editions. But we’ll start by looking at the weakest entries — both from the Clone Wars era.
This is the third appearance this year of the yellow Clone Troopers Commander joining the Ultimate Collector Series 75309 Republic Gunship and 40558 Clone Troopers Minifigure Extra Pack. You’d think LEGO would have chosen a slightly more unique model. I mean, yeah, they’re clones and all, but still.

Even more so is the battle droid. Still great for army building, these parts can make for a nice building challenge if you’re not into putting together arrays of cannon fodder.
Then there are the party shirt pirates – C-3PO, R2-D2, and Darth Vader. 3PO and R2 show their holiday spirit with ugly sweaters. Both bodies are special editions for this set, while other droid parts are retrospectives.
R2’s red shirt has 3PO’s face on the front. This version of the dome has been around since 2020.
C-3PO rewards his friend R2 with his blue knitting. Its legs are the same as those featured in the 75339 Death Star Trash Compactor diorama.

Darth Vader, in an unusual twist, is ready for summer. (Or maybe December is hot in Mustafa.) She has a new double print featuring Scarf Summer, with the Death Star hovering harmlessly in the sky. It also comes with an articulated sports ball, which has a production dimple that makes it look like the swimming pool on the Death Star.
We catch up with the Hoth adventure gang – a snow trooper, Luke in cold weather gear, and Santa Gonk.
This version of the Snowtrooper is actually very rare – the only other exact toy was the Ultimate Collector Series 75313 AT-AT. The head is the main part – the only other feature it has.
This is still the most detailed version of this outfit, and only the second look, so no complaints here. I also really like the silver lightsaber hilt introduced in 2022. It’s not as cool as the original chrome, but I’m sure it’s very durable.

We conclude this calendar with Kringle’s representative Santa Gonck. This brick-built figure straddles the line between “minifigure” and “brick-built model,” but LEGO lists it as a minifigure, so I’ll do the same. Gonk Droids are my personal favorite, and this holiday edition is absolutely adorable. Complete with a top hat, white beard, and festive color scheme, you won’t even be surprised how well it fits into the smoke stack.
By the end of Advent, you’ll have 24 daily builds to enjoy. There’s a good variety of content here, with a little something to appeal to any Star Wars fan.
The game’s location in the reception box is weak, but it will always be a case of a set that needs to move around many film locations. In this case, a mashup between “Hoth” and “Winter on Andover” seems like a good compromise.
It’s also worth noting that you’ll get a good stack of spare parts over the course of the month. In our house, we usually have a small cup with a calendar to collect it – maybe one year we do a construction challenge around it.

The Star Wars entry is from 2011 – making it the 12th entry in the cycle. And while they’re making more Star Wars stuff all the time, it’s going to be a challenge for LEGO to keep the schedule interesting to longtime fans and enough “content” to appeal to newcomers. Also keep I think this year’s offering does a great job of finding that sweet spot. The small selection is great, even if Clone Wars fans will be happy with the Clone Commander figure selection. (I think they might be a little complacent about wearing big weather sweats and waders, though.) The little buildings are interesting, and most of them are recognizable.
