Xiaomi has closed its latest UK-focused event, revealing pricing information for its two latest smartphones and its UK network partner for three.

Xiaomi 12t Pro Review: Closing In On The Flagships
To kick things off with the Xiaomi Mi 10, in terms of contractual agreements, the new phone is limited to only 3 in the UK. The first contract transactions are as follows:
You’ll be able to get a phone with three SIMs for £799. With the Xiaomi Mi 9 starting at $499, that’s a huge jump and 5G could be contributing. However, the 256GB model costs £799 compared to the Mi 9’s 64GB. You can now get the 128GB Mi 10 model for $579.99 on Amazon.
At $799 it might be steep for the Mi 10, going above the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S20 and OnePlus 8. But, with powerful specs like the Snapdragon 865, a triple camera setup and a 90Hz display, it still looks like a good deal if you can handle it. and a cheaper 128GB model.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro hasn’t put a foot wrong, but the lack of 5G may put some
With the Redmi Note 10 Pro, it is clear that Xiaomi wants a large share of the Western market that was given to Huawei when the Chinese giant lost access to Google apps. The Redmi Note 10 Pro has the phrase “easy access to the Google apps you use the most” proudly emblazoned under the phone’s name. Oh, Xiaomi, oh my.
Opposition issues aside, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is a mess to hold. It’s not quite the cheapest Xiaomi Mi Note 10, but it does inherit the £459 handset’s 108MP camera. The main difference is Redmi (entry level) vs. Mi (premium) – why Xiaomi kept all the same name is a mystery to me.

It doesn’t really matter. Both of these phones are excellent, and the Redmi Note 10 Pro is definitely one of the best handsets you can get in the growing bracket under $300.

It is an angry pitch from Xiaomi for the middle market, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor combined with 6GB of RAM and a 120Hz screen, interestingly, it has the same specifications as another budget favorite of Xiaomi, the Poco X3 NFC.
However, it is an improvement in many ways. First, the screen is an AMOLED function rather than IPS, which means infinite contrast and perfect black levels. Second, both handsets have a quad-camera setup, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro has an amazing 108MP (f/1.9) sensor. It’s not the first phone to triple that in megapixels, but it’s cheap.

In the UK, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro starts at £249. If you double the storage to 128GB, you’re looking at an extra £20 (£269).
That puts it up against some very good handsets, especially mid-range flagship Google’s Pixel 4a, at $350. Alternatively, there are other 5G options such as the oddly named Moto G 5G Plus and the Realme X50 5G, both of which retail for £299.
The discount elephant in the room is Xiaomi’s Poco X3 NFC, which sells for £199, and the Moto G9 Plus, which started life at £260 but is now selling around the £200 mark, is worth checking out.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro starts well in terms of design. The front is dominated by a 6.56-inch display, surrounded by a small bezel. The bottom edge is very wide, not visible and does not look like a clear “chin”, as is often the case with mobile phones. There is also no feature: instead, the pinhole camera sits in the center of the screen, a millimeter from the top edge.

Flip it over and it looks as flagrant as the latest big budget handset from Apple or Samsung. The glass back means it’s more expensive, with a back panel that curves gently to the sides. The camera array looks fairly advanced, with the 108MP number getting its own beautiful silver bezel that looks like a colorful Instagram logo.
Xiaomi keeps things small on the sides with a volume rocker and integrated power button and fingerprint reader. There’s a headphone jack at the top, while the USB-C charging port sits at the bottom.
The phone supports both microSD expansion and two SIM cards simultaneously. That’s a good thing as some don’t let you expand the storage or get a second SIM, while others let you choose between the two.
On paper, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro really pushes the definition of the mid-range with its screen. The 6.56in panel uses AMOLED technology (most phones in this bracket go with cheap IPS) and has a refresh rate of 120Hz, which makes for good performance and theoretically opens the door to 120fps performance in games.

The resolution is 2,400 x 1,080, which means you get about 395 pixels per inch – much better than what you can find on high-end laptop screens, even if they fall behind 2K panels. The ultimate smartphone.
More importantly, this is one of the best screens we’ve seen in any price bracket, let alone the mid-range. With our colorimeter, we measured 95.4% sRGB gamut coverage, 97.2% volume and a perfect average delta E of 1.04. As it’s an OLED panel, the contrast can’t be beat, and while 430cd/m² isn’t the brightest screen around, it’s good enough for all but the sunniest of days.
The 120Hz refresh rate is actually disabled by default for battery-saving reasons, but it can be changed in the phone’s display settings.
The increased refresh rate is nice, if subtle. Menu transitions and apps feel surprisingly smooth, and while it’s something you’ll notice more by its absence than by its presence, it’s definitely a joy to use.

The theoretical gift of triple frame rates for playback is very much off the table here. That’s partly because the Google Play Store doesn’t have much to choose from, and partly because even if it did, the Redmi Note 10 Pro’s mid-range processor might not be the best vehicle for it.
In terms of performance, this is unfortunately not something we were able to test in our usual way. As is often the case with pre-release phones, our usual benchmark apps—GeekBench and GFXBench—are not working, so we can’t get comparable numbers.
Fortunately, the Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC has the same basic specifications, so we can assume that the performance will be almost the same. Here’s how it stacks up against other phones in the same area and at the same price:
As you can see, there’s a lot more at this price point – our mid-range favorite, Google’s Pixel 4a, lags behind in multi-core performance.
