Nanyang Technological University Wee Kim Wee’s School of Communication and Information is investigating a student who allegedly violated a drag show for a photo of their player, and in the process posted the photo in the locker room without permission. Taking it violates their privacy and dignity.

Becca D’Bus, a local performer and producer of the drag show Commotion, took to Facebook on September 23rd to review an incident involving a 3-year-old student.

According to Becca’s post, the student, named Atiqa, requested access to take a photo essay about her life as a drag queen for a recent photojournalism course.
Atiqa then asked if she could get access to the drag show on September 12 to film for her coursework and in return would film for free for the show.
Becca later declined because the show had already hired a photographer. “I offered him access to shoot the show in October. I haven’t heard back,” he wrote.
But on September 12, Becca reached the projector (where the show was held) and found Atiqa shooting an actor, despite previously being told by the producers that she was not allowed.

According to Becca, Atiqa goes directly to an actor and gets their permission to set up their dressing room station and maybe rehearse a number before the show.
“At that point, I yelled at her to leave,” Becca wrote, adding that Atiqa ignored her “clearly stated three times” refusal.
“Are students also taught how to request access? If someone is denied access to an event, does it seem fair to that person to request access from other players in the same event? Request access? Thus completely ignoring the manufacturer’s denial?”
Becca – who also goes by the name Eugene Tan – went on to insist that the student had invaded the privacy of the players’ locker room.

While Becca didn’t say whether any of the actors were photographed in the dressing room, she did say that none of the actors agreed to have cameras in their dressing rooms.

In an update to her post later that day, Becca added that she had received two emails from NTU – one from the director of communications and information at the We Kim We School and the other from the dean of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. .
The former apologized for the late response (Becca said she sent two emails to the principal a week) while the latter apologized on behalf of the school. Both promised to investigate the matter.

LEONARD, N.D. – Authorities say an Alice, North Dakota man was behind the driver of a school bus that crashed into the Maple River near here last week.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office identified the Enderlin Area School District bus driver as 62-year-old Andy Alan Bunn.
“This accident remains under investigation as the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reviews video footage, medical records, and conducts interviews,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Until all information is reviewed, no decision will be made regarding citations or criminal charges.”

It took several months before any updates on the case were made public as investigators tried to figure out what happened. In July 2022, Leticia Gonzalez was formally charged with three counts of operating while intoxicated causing death. Ottawa County Sheriff’s investigators allege that at the time of the crash, Gonzalez was impaired by methadone, a drug used to relieve pain and treat addiction.
“Under state law, it’s not automatically illegal to have it in your system with certain medications and things like that,” said Capt. Sparks, “so we should be able to do it on a controlled substance. The vehicle indicates impaired vision while the person is driving.”
In Michigan it is legal to drive while taking methadone when it is used as prescribed, but like any substance it can be abused. Court documents reveal that Gonzalez took a prescribed dose of methadone at the clinic on the morning of the accident, and then took another unprescribed dose hours before the incident.
“There will be a very thorough review of all the evidence in this case to determine how much he took and how much was actually in his blood,” Holz said. Holz said.
