Although the WH Smith store is unfortunately a rerun for UK artists due to geographic location, I know many American artists and others who have expressed an interest in learning more about WH Smith pencils. This review will help you who are interested. I mentioned earlier that WH Smith stores sell art supplies, but they have a limited selection. Depending on the store you visit, you can buy Derwent products, such as Caron d’Ache, Winsor & Newton, Daler Rowney and Conte, but each store sells the WH Smith art brand, especially the range of colored pencils.

My husband was in town the other day and asked him to pick up some WH Smith colored pencils for me to review, I have been wanting to review the WH Smith colored pencils for a while based on the messages and emails I have received. in the past. I would say that WH Smith refer to this set as artist but when you buy them it’s only on the website, nothing on the outside of the tin indicates artist quality pencils. The second colored pencil sold by WH Smith is sold in a cardboard box, the artwork on the packaging is small and looks like a low quality pencil compared to the WH Smith pencil in the tin. There are other features that distinguish the two pencils that are not noticeable when opening the set, which we will look at.
Surprisingly, WH Smith color pencils in tins are sold in sets of 12, 24 and 36, while low quality WH Smith pencils in cardboard boxes are sold in sets of 12, 24, 36 and 48. I bought WH Smith 36 colored pencils for this review, the biggest set in the line, when you open the bag you are immediately met with 36 pencils. The barrel is triangular, which takes a little getting used to when holding them, however, this particular shape is used to help young artists hold their pencils well. The base of the WH Smith Triangular Colored Pencils is a 3.6mm lead in a 7.6mm triangular barrel. Each barrel is color coded to match the pencil base, making color selection quick and easy. The only information printed with the barrel is WH Smith, which is on the bottom of the barrel. The only other mark on the WH Smith triangular barrel is a decorative silver bar that separates the WH Smith logo from the rest of the barrel.
The WH Smith Triangular Barrel Is Really Smart As with the square pencils I reviewed recently, one might be forgiven for asking whether such an irregular barrel shape is sharp enough, but as with pencils that have -corner, the WH Smith Triangular pencil sharpens perfectly without any problems.

I’m afraid the importance of printing it on the barrel, why not the name of the pigment?
