MiFi devices can be connected to multiple devices at the same time, including cell phones, tablets and laptops, and the typical range is around 15 meters, although the advertisement states that the range can be up to 30 meters.

To be honest, I found the intermittent promise of really fast mobile internet frustrating. It peaked at around 4 Mbps, more than enough speed to do most things I need to do on the web. But as soon as I feel comfortable doing something, like watching an online video or even reading an article, the connection drops. It would have been much better to hack a book and read it than to persevere with such an inconsistent internet connection.
Well, a railroad test that includes barren and mountainous countryside is probably not the fairest test to properly evaluate a WiFi device, although it will at least help highlight what many rural locations have to put up with on a regular basis.
Many people simply want to be able to connect while cruising across town. So I tested it at different times and places in London. Typical download/upload speeds remained around the 1500/1000kbps mark. As I write this, at home on a Saturday afternoon in London, the fastest I’ve gotten is 1968/591 kbps, but sometimes it drops to half that in a few minutes. So the MiFi is fast enough to use in a city perhaps, but it probably can’t be used as someone’s main Internet source unless all they really need is email and basic internet capabilities. web browsing.
The potential of MiFi devices is huge, simply because people want access to high-speed internet anywhere, without worrying that the hotel or coffee shop they go to has free public Wi-Fi. I think we’re slowly getting there, but there’s clearly some way to go from this test before we can expect to get fast, reliable Internet access wherever we are.

The first thing to do is remove the back cover of your MiFi. It is secured using several plastic clips located around the edge of the case. To remove the cover, there is a small hole in one of the corners that you can pull it out of.
First, remove the SIM card from its package and push it out of the holder. You want a micro SIM, which is the green one (second largest).

The SIM card slot has a small metal tab, which you have to lift. Then place the SIM card in its slot as shown, with the cut corner facing down and to the right. There is also a label on the device to show you how to insert the SIM card.
Note that the SIM card does not snap into place. Instead, the metal plate slides down to secure it. Don’t force the metal cover down if it doesn’t move easily – this means the SIM card needs to be repositioned a bit.
