OLED TVs are some of the best TVs out there. OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) is a panel technology that produces excellent contrast, incredible colors and ultra-slim profiles. The results are impressive, and OLED TVs have topped our “Best TV” lists for years.
For a great example of the best in display technology, we recommend the LG C2 ($1, available at Amazon for $296.99). Not only is it LG’s best OLED TV of 2023, it’s also our current pick for best TV. Its incredible image quality, razor-thin design and futuristic features put it at the top of the heap.
While almost all OLED TVs look great, the big differences are features and price. All of the OLEDs here are fantastic in their own right, proving themselves in our rigorous lab tests.

Like all OLED displays, the C2 can adjust its brightness on an individual pixel basis, even turning pixels off. This allows for perfect black levels and incredible contrast, on which the C2 produces incredibly bright highlights. It also features LG’s OLED evo display technology, which optimizes color volume for HDR in the range of 700-800 nits and 97% DCI-P3 coverage.
Cinemaphiles and A/V enthusiasts will appreciate Dolby Vision C2 support. Meanwhile, gamers can enjoy 4 full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K gaming at 120 Hz (Hz), and automatic low latency (ALLM) and variable refresh rate (VRR), with AMD FreeSync and enjoy Nvidia G-Sync. LG’s Game Optimizer settings menu lets you change VRR options, view frame rate information, and easily change the TV’s image while gaming.
This is not a perfect TV. For one, we wish LG hadn’t dropped DTS audio support. Additionally, their webOS smart app is slow, full of sponsored content, and frustrating to use. We recommend getting a streaming device instead of streaming to the TV itself.
The LG C2 is the latest addition to LG’s long line of award-winning OLED TVs. This TV is more expensive than most TVs, but the price is justified by its world-class performance and features.

The A95K is Sony’s first OLED TV with advanced quantum dots, and they’ve proven it from the jump. The picture quality is the best we have seen. Unfortunately, the price puts it out of reach for most buyers.
The A95K delivers the perfect, deep black levels and wide viewing angles you’d expect from OLED. It also solves the dimming problem that plagues some OLEDs – this is one of the brightest examples we’ve tested so far. As long as you don’t expose it to direct sunlight, it’s great for day or night viewing.
Sony’s quantum dot technology, called Triluminos Color, delivers brilliant, vibrant colors. It covers the full 100% HDR (DCI-P3) color gamut, and its rich colors come through, regardless of whether you’re streaming TV shows, movies or games. The A95K is particularly impressive when it comes to skin tone rendering and subtle color grading. Even when upscaling from standard quality content, you may not notice any color banding.
The A95K’s intelligent platform is based on Google and is fast, flexible and easy to use for everyday playback. And while the A95K doesn’t have the gaming edge compared to some of its higher-end competitors, it still offers decent gaming support. Its two HDMI 2.1 inputs support 4K gaming at 120Hz, though one of those inputs is also the TV’s AARC port. Other gaming improvements include variable refresh rates, automatic low-latency mode, and G-Sync compatibility.

With excellent picture quality and a wide selection of A/V and gaming features, the LG C3 OLED is one of the best all-round TVs you can buy. This TV performs better than our overall top pick, the LG C2, but its premium price keeps it from the top spot, while the C2 can be found at deep discounts. However, if you want the latest and greatest OLED version of LG’s C-series, go with the C3.
Like its predecessor, the C3 pairs rich black levels with rich, rich color highlights. It is brighter than the C2, but only a hair, thanks to the new image processing enhancement that manages the light output.
The C3 is at its best when displaying HDR content, covering 99% of the HDR color gamut (DCI-P3) and displaying highlights up to 800 nits. Image purists will appreciate the TV’s out-of-the-box accuracy and Dolby Vision support, and everyone in the room will appreciate the C3’s ultra-wide viewing angles (usually OLED displays).

Colors on the S95C look stunning no matter what you’re watching, but HDR movies, shows and video games look particularly vibrant. The S95C covers 99% of the HDR color spectrum, and the sheer brightness of its quantum dot-enhanced palette really makes a difference.
The S95C is a gaming powerhouse, and its low input lag and 144Hz refresh rate are just the tip of the iceberg. Its four HDMI 2.1 inputs support 4K/120Hz gaming, along with Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and AMD FreeSync Premium. Like last year’s model, the S95C also offers Samsung Gaming Hub (a cloud gaming platform) and Game Bar, a settings menu that puts the TV’s various gaming enhancements at your fingertips.

As with all Samsung TVs, you won’t get Dolby Vision support with the S95C. Instead, the TV offers HDR10+ instead, an HDR format that uses the same frame-by-frame metadata. The LG G2 is LG’s best OLED this year. The LG C2 is generally a better choice for most people. But if you’re willing to pay for it, the G2 packs the same features with slightly better image quality.
