The Samsung Galaxy A50 has not one, not two, but three rear cameras. The 25-megapixel, f/1.7 main camera is supported by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle and a 5-megapixel, f/2.2 depth sensor. It would be nice if one of these was a telephoto zoom, but you’re probably asking for the moon on a stick considering the amount of information we’ve been given for the price.

For video, the Galaxy A50 can record in Full HD at 30 fps. If you want 4K or 60fps (not both at the same time, mind you), you’ll need to spend an extra £60 on the Galaxy A70. That said, the video quality is pretty good, and the image stabilization seems pretty strong for shaky hands.

The front selfie camera also deserves some respect. It’s a 25-megapixel one with an f/2.0 aperture. This can be better for Skype calls and selfies, and even with the beauty of the eraser, Samsung still manages to remove all your wrinkles and give you that unique shine in the Samsung camera .
It can be considered a plus for some, but beware of the Instagram followers of smart beauty practices: you will not fool anyone.
But, if that’s the only thing you say is wrong with the Galaxy A50, Samsung is doing something right. Very good, actually.
For £310 you get a great phone that looks good, has a big screen, is fast enough for most people and takes good pictures. This phone will be more than most people.
