Good News! Samsung Galaxy S23’s Price Might Not Change After All
The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is undoubtedly a high-end flagship smartphone with an impressively large price tag.
The phone was unveiled at Samsung Unpacked on August 5, and Samsung sent a review unit the next day. After three weeks of daily use, it’s easy to say that this is the best phone Samsung has ever produced. But at a certain point, there’s only so much a phone can handle. Samsung already makes world-class phones, so the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is the latest in a long line of great devices.
It’s definitely a big phone, with a 6.9-inch screen, but in a world where smartphones serve as substitutes for tablets, it works well. I found myself holding the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra
Even with my iPad or TV. It was easy, and the picture quality was amazing.

I also stopped using the Kindle app on my iPad to read e-books, though I still grabbed my son’s Nintendo Switch for the occasional round of Animal Crossing. (Those fish won’t catch themselves.) The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra’s screen was big enough for reading and gaming.
One reason for the image quality is that the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as an adaptive refresh rate. It is variable, and it is a first for Samsung. The screen dynamically adapts to what is currently being displayed. It drops to 10Hz when nothing is playing on the screen.
Speaking of gaming, Samsung is promoting Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service alongside the phone. There is an Xbox library of over 100 Xbox games that you can stream from the cloud. This includes Minecraft Dungeons, Forza Horizon Four and Gears of War Five Ultimate Edition.
There are optimizations on devices for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth so gamers can pair their gaming experience with a Bluetooth controller for an immersive console-like gaming experience. The screen of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is actually larger than the Nintendo Switch, so it offers an even better gaming experience.

The battery lasts a day and a half and sometimes two days, depending on how much I use my phone for viewing.

You can’t write about a phone without mentioning its most obvious feature – the massive camera bump on the back. The bump has three cameras as well as a sensor and a flash. He said Samsung made the bump to make room for all the technology in the camera while keeping the phone as thin as possible.

And so a lot of people already don’t have one. a reason. And so when we looked at how we could reduce our eco-footprint, it came within the scope of the packaging element.

I like that it uses Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection, which Corning says is twice the scratch resistance of the latest version, Gorilla Glass 6, and can be dropped from 2 meters without damage. I’ve never cracked the screen on one of my smartphones, but I always like knowing that my device has the latest and greatest glass.
I’m also very happy that Samsung reduced the latency on the S Pen stylus. It’s an 80 percent improvement over the Note 10’s stylus. It is as low as 9 milliseconds, aiming for a low latency that graphic designers and architects appreciate. I don’t have a Galaxy Note 10, but I do have a Galaxy Note 9, and I can definitely tell a difference. It looks like you are actually writing with an ink pen. Air Actions are still present with the S Pen, so users can remotely control their smartphone with the stylus. The control options have been expanded to include five more gestures.
Although I admit that I tend to forget about the S Pen after a while. It’s funny for a few days when I first use a new note device, then I put it away and stop using it. Hopefully that won’t be the case with the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra now that it has other uses.

Of course there is DeX. I don’t use them myself though. I know. Don’t tell Samsung. But it’s a favorite of some, and it can now connect wirelessly and be used on any smart TV that supports mirrorcast.
A color. I was sent the new Mystic Bronze shade. I’m not a big fan. I think it’s a variation of the rose gold shades of yesteryear. If I had my dust, I’d go with Mystic Black or Mystic White. I really like the textured mist effect that reduces fingerprints and smudges. This was the first thing I noticed about the device.
The price is quite heavy. But that’s the norm with high-end smartphones these days. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra starts at $1,299 for the 128GB version, and $1,449 for the 512GB model, and a 512GB microSD card increases storage to over 1TB. The smaller Galaxy Note 20 starts at $999.
The phone was available for purchase starting August 21st, and you can find it at all the usual places, including Samsung, Best Buy, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T.
