Update Samsung S21 Ultra With Price Review

Update Samsung S21 Ultra With Price Review – Once a year I received a Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone for review. It’s good to understand how much the product evolves every year. And since the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G has been out for over a month, there are enough reviews to convince or confuse you. Instead of drilling down on technical specifications, I want to focus on the personal user experience.

There are only three items in the retail package – the smartphone, the USB-C to USB-C cable and the SIM eject pin. For the price of S$1,798 (256GB), I felt like I wasn’t getting my money’s worth and expected more bells and whistles like Samsung offers for the Flip series.

But then again, we know the smartphone itself is what you’re really paying for, and I applaud Samsung for coming up with a new camera module design they call a “contour cutout” that blends the camera into the phone’s frame. A perfect design. Perhaps future iterations of the Galaxy series will expand this design further on the back of the phone. Currently, the back is provided with a frosted coating, so there are no fingerprint marks in the end.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Review: Samsung’s Best Yet

The front display comes with a pre-applied screen protector. Although the glass sides are curved, the display is not like its predecessors. I also barely noticed the front-facing camera because the hole is so small and barely noticeable unless you’re watching video content, which is rare. The screen is bright enough to watch content during the full day at noon, but it is not recommended to do so for too long as the phone heats up and drains the battery.

Overall, there are no surprises for me in using the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G as my everyday phone in my three-week review. The user interface feels mature and smooth, but not super fast. It’s probably a design issue rather than a speedy transition, but I like it fast and it gives the impression of a good performance processor.

The S21 series is Samsung’s second-generation device that uses an interpolated 10x telephoto optical lens to deliver 100x spatial zoom. Camera quality across the entire zoom range has improved by leaps and bounds compared to the S20. I was able to capture more detail of the full moon on the S21 Ultra 5G compared to the S20 Ultra 5G.

The image stabilization at the ultra zoom end is pretty amazing. This can really stabilize your shots. However, sometimes when I want to move my framing position, the stabilization prevents the frame from moving, and when I decide to reframe, it moves too much. There are also instances of “digital shake” where the camera doesn’t know whether to stabilize or pan. I think with enough feedback this issue should be fixed with a software update.

The camera module appears to have 5 circular bodies, but only has 4 lenses. Nice visual trick from Samsung. There is a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 108MP wide-angle camera, and two 10MP telephoto cameras (3x and 10x optical). Some notable technical details about the camera system: it supports 4K 60fps video recording across the zoom range, so you won’t be handicapped by the limited zoom range. Uses 9 pixels fused and unfused to improve night mode.

Basically, with this technology, you can leave it up to Samsung to decide when and when not to use digital clipping and when to use binning to reduce noise. As a result, I sometimes noticed that some images were slightly less detailed as the noise was removed when the pixelation signals were output.

You can also take 108MP photos with the wide-angle lens, but cropping is not supported in the camera. I think you can trust the S21 Ultra camera to capture the full spectrum of your life, from ultra-wide to super-zoom.

Night shots are also very capable and, frankly, all smartphone cameras have become practically decent low-light shots. Just be aware of hand shake and try to be steady when shooting the scene so the camera can absorb as much light as possible to capture more dynamic range.

It’s nice that the S21 series supports the S Pen, which I find very useful at times, but not so important to have around all the time. So some people can keep the S Pen in a safe place and use it when they really need it.

I haven’t been able to review the other S21 series, but based on my experience with the S20, I think the S21 Ultra 5G will be the best. My reason: 100x spatial zoom is a feature not found in other phones. Top it off with S Pen support. But if those two features aren’t on your wish list, there are plenty of other Android smartphones that can do what the Galaxy S21 can do, and in a lighter package and at a lower price.

There’s a lot to say about the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. And it should be, because it’s the company’s flagship smartphone that packs the latest and greatest combination of hardware and software. To begin with, let’s come to the overall aesthetics of the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra may look similar to its predecessor. The Infinity-O hole screen is big enough for big hands. The S21 Ultra’s screen is now 6.8 inches long, which is 0.1 inches smaller than its predecessor. An edge-to-edge curved display that’s bright and vibrant adds to the immersive experience. I really enjoyed using the Galaxy S21 Ultra for streaming and content creation (more on that in the camera section of this review) on a recent trip to Triund, where I used the phone as my daily driver.

The dynamic AMOLED screen comes with a maximum brightness of 1500 nits, which is bright enough to use even in direct sunlight. The screen supports HDR10+, which means you get the best colors and contrast when viewing content on the screen. It also has an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate display. Two small but still big improvements Samsung has made here are the 120Hz WQHD+ resolution and adaptive refresh rate display.

Unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra, you can use the S21 Ultra 5G display at its highest resolution and highest refresh rate. Personally, I’ve always used the phone at FHD+ resolution and 120Hz to maximize battery life, but if you’re someone who wants to use the screen to its full potential, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has you covered. The display refresh rate is also adaptive, meaning it automatically changes the refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz depending on the task on screen. I didn’t notice any stuttering and the overall experience was smooth.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Review: Compact, But Not Weak

Turn the phone over and you’ll notice how refreshing the design is. Samsung went back to the drawing board and updated the Galaxy S21 Ultra with a big, bulky design. First up is the Phantom Black color. We’ll just say that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has the best “black” color of any smartphone. The back panel has a matte finish that doesn’t retain fingerprints and feels premium to the touch.

Even better is the design of the camera module, which makes the phone look premium from a distance. Samsung has incorporated a camera cover into the frame of the phone, which looks very unique. The weight is more than 225 grams
