But with a new design and a lower price tag, does the Galaxy S21 Plus do enough to make you feel like a new phone and worth your money?

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus presents a new design that cannot avoid attracting attention. The new look is certainly less daring than Samsung’s previous designs and won’t appeal to everyone. Still, I’m a big fan of the gorgeous Phantom Violet color I’m using for review, and there’s no doubt that Samsung pays attention to detail and build quality. This is a well made phone.

There is Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and back of the phone, which provides great protection against drops. The glass can be slightly slippery, but that seems to be the first part of the market. It sits opposite the regular Galaxy S21 with a “Glastic” back cover. There is also IP68 protection against water and dust, which is typical of the Samsung brand for generations.
When we talk about security, the phone has an in-display fingerprint reader that works very quickly. Facial recognition is also supported through the front-facing camera and works much faster than the fingerprint scanner. However, both are so fast and accurate that I had no problem unlocking the phone. It’s worth noting that face unlock is completely software-based and not as secure as hardware-based devices.

For audiophiles, there’s no turning back on your favorite headphone jack here. But the phone supports SBC, AAC, aptX, LDAC and Samsung’s Scalable Bluetooth audio codecs for uncompressed phones and more. The phone’s stereo speakers sound great and offer good stereo contrast. Just don’t expect to hear a rumbling bassline from these tiny drivers. It also includes an FM radio if you’re still tuning in to your tunes the old-fashioned way.

All in all, the Galaxy S21 Plus offers a premium device that remains the gold standard in the industry.
The display of the Galaxy S21 Plus is not only good in terms of beauty. The bezel-less design and selfie camera are common features of Samsung’s latest designs.
Samsung has reduced the display resolution from QHD+ (3,200 x 1,440) to FHD+ (2,400 x 1,080) in this generation to save costs. However, this won’t matter to most consumers, as the slightly older Galaxy S phones aren’t compatible with FHD+ software out of the box anyway. With a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ content support, and AMOLED technology behind it, Samsung’s display skills are as good as ever. However, unlike some competing phones, you can’t force all apps to use the perfect 120Hz refresh rate. Instead, the refresh rate is locked into the mode.
Whether you appreciate or miss curved glass comes down to personal preference. Personally, for a phone of this size, I don’t think a small bezel helps processing. However, at the same time, the design is suitable for media playback and gaming, because the content is not lost and distorted on the display side.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Fe 5g Smartphone Review
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus is powered by the latest 5nm silicon, just like the rest. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is featured in the US and select Asian markets, while the rest of the world gets the Samsung Exynos 2100. With 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of fast UFS3.1 storage, you won’t need to work here. Unfortunately, however, Samsung has removed the microSD expansion slot from the Galaxy S21.
We have extensively tested and compared the performance of the Snapdragon 888- and Exynos 2100-powered Galaxy S21 Ultra. The results show the Galaxy S21 Plus as well. Last years saw a huge difference between the two chip makers, resulting in two performance classes for Galaxy S owners. The good news is that the difference has narrowed, with both phones running nearly the same number of apps. The Snapdragon 888 maintains a prominent line in terms of gaming, but even here the delta performance is not as good as in previous years.
The Exynos 2100 powered by the Galaxy S21 Plus scored as fast as 90 seconds during the fastest benchmarks, while the average time was 101 seconds during the 10 run. This puts it in the same ballpark as the Galaxy S21 Ultra model tested below. Although, in fact, the performance of the gift is much better than the long-term performance with this chip.
While day-to-day performance mostly feels like a problem that has been solved over the generations, at least in high-end smartphones, applications still feel a bit difficult going on those 5nm chips. Everything from browsing the web and playing HEVC videos to launching 3D games went smoothly on the Galaxy S21 Plus variant I’m testing.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ Review (long Term): Loaded With Specs, High On Performance
In fact, well-known graphics benchmarks such as 3DMark require new tests, as the Mali-G78 uses an old scoring system. As much as there is debate about the merits of Snapdragon and Exynos displays, both offer the future-proof performance that avid consumers desire.
The Galaxy S21 Plus 5G also supports sub-6GHz and mmWave networks. Unfortunately, I don’t live in a 5G area to test. However, based on our experience with the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra, we already know that the Snapdragon 888 equipped with a 5G modem works well. Of course, your travel and 5G data speeds will ultimately depend on your location and carrier.
The Galaxy S21 Plus offers exceptional battery life, just like the rest of the Galaxy S21 family. The 4,800mAh battery easily lasts all day with heavy use, such as taking pictures, recording videos, and playing small games on the go. Most users could easily spend two full days of browsing and checking email.
If you’re after the numbers, the Exynos Galaxy S21 Plus lasted four hours and 18 minutes running the fastest G Test. This is a good answer. In comparison, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra lasted three hours and 39 minutes, and the OnePlus 8T lasted three hours and 51 minutes.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus Review: The Awkward Middle Child
Unsurprisingly, there is no charger included with the Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus. While there are legitimate environmental arguments in favor of the move, the complexity of charging USB-C can cause headaches for many consumers.
The phone can be used with older chargers from different brands, but to get the fastest 25W speed you’ll want to use one of Samsung’s 25W or 45W USB-C Super-Charging power adapters (see details below). See the linked article above for 45W adapter information or our review here). We also tested a wide selection of third-party chargers, most of which charge 15W. The exception is the Eleject 45W Super Fast Charger, which supports the USB Power Delivery Programmable Power Supply (USB PD PPS) required for charging at full speed. Finally, the fast charging of the Galaxy S21 Plus is going to be a bit of a pain for most users.
The 15W wireless charger is also a good choice for top-ups throughout the day. However, Samsung’s technology is behind the fast 30W power consumption that its competitors are catching up on. The Galaxy S21 Plus doesn’t charge fast enough to be a good substitute for a quick charger, which is a shame considering it’s not plugged in out of the box. Telephone
