The M31 features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels. To protect the display from scratches, the company has also added a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating to the device. The display is quite bright and also provides good visibility in direct sunlight. At the same time, the large display makes watching movies and playing games enjoyable.

The smartphone is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 9611 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. This combination ensures smooth, lag-free operation. The smartphone is not designed for hardcore gaming, but it does a great job with casual games. Multitasking is a cakewalk and the user interface is pretty simple and straightforward too. The smartphone comes with two memory options – 64 GB and 128 GB. Users can also install a microSD card for further storage expansion.

The standout features of the Samsung Galaxy M31 include a quad-camera setup and a massive 6,000mAh battery. We were very impressed with the smartphone’s battery performance as it lasted a day and a half on a single charge. On the other hand, the camera performance is also quite good and we were satisfied with the image output. Our personal favorite is the macro camera. The macro camera captures images well and also offers a fair amount of detail.

With a starting price of Rs 16,999, the Samsung Galaxy M31 has all the basic features you need for a budget smartphone. If you are looking for a complete set in the budget segment, the device will not disappoint you.

I have been using this device for over 3 weeks and I have already given my first impression of this device. Look first if you want. This is a continuation of my first impressions and includes a detailed review of the M31.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 uses a plastic body and a glossy back. It has an AMOLED waterdrop display on the front.

The plastic construction is made to look like glass with a finish, but it certainly doesn’t look like it.

This particular review unit received scratches on the back during my use, but these were only noticeable upon close inspection. Therefore, I recommend that you use a case.

Is It Worth Buying Samsung Galaxy M31

The back has a quad-camera setup with a rectangular camera module alongside an oval-shaped fingerprint sensor. The sides are curved in the frame, and the sides are also curved.

In front, the side frames are thin, but the chin is still visible. The buttons are on the right side, while there is a tray for two SIM cards and a microsd.

At the bottom we get a headphone jack, a USB Type C port, a microphone and a speaker. For now, there is another microphone on top. In addition, the speaker is neatly hidden at the top of the notch.

Although the plastic case does not look premium. Feels strong and firm. But prone to scratches. So, I love the glass back we see on the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Samsung Galaxy M31: How Long Does A 6000mah Battery Last?

Ergonomically, I like the way it feels in the hand. It is not slippery and I can use it on my hand. But using one hand is not very convenient. You must get used to it.

The Samsung Galaxy M31 features a 6.4-inch 1080×2340 (FHD+) AMOLED display. This is a 60Hz panel with deep blacks and impressive color reproduction.

My first impression is that everything is the same. Colors are bright and contrast is high. It’s perfect for YouTube, Netflix and games.

The display is impressive for media consumption. But in bright sunlight, it is not so bright. If you want to take pictures or view content in bright sunlight, you’ll have a hard time.

Always on display as usual. You can customize it to some extent. You can also select different color modes for display. If you want a more natural tone, you can choose the natural mode or the Vivid mode. You can also adjust the warmth and make the color temperature warm or cool.

To be honest, I have never been a fan of high-megapixel sensors. I mean it’s great and all for capturing high detail, but I don’t really find it useful. After all, photos from our smartphones will only go to social networks.

So, in the Samsung Galaxy M31 we get a 64-megapixel main sensor with a pixel size of 0.8 microns. This is a large sensor that helps the sensor capture more light. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy M31 takes great photos. But, in typical Samsung fashion, it still retains the similar camera treatment of other mid-range Samsung phones.

The 16-megapixel photos of the Samsung Galaxy M31 are very clear, and image processing ensures high contrast and saturation. The white balance he chooses is not necessarily the most accurate, and he tends to choose one that can bring out the colors in the scene.

Images have a minimum ISO of 20, so HDR is quite impressive. It is able to preserve detail in darker areas without highlighting brighter areas. I like the brightness of the collected photos, it is a little brighter than usual, but it helps to make the image stand out.

Moving on to the 64-megapixel images, they clearly contain more detail. If you look at the photos side by side, it’s clear that the 48-megapixel photos have more detail. Images look flatter than 16-megapixel images, but colors are duller and more natural. And it doesn’t sharpen the image like it does with 16-megapixel photos. Also, 48MP images have a minimum ISO of 40, which I think is done to balance out the lack of HDR.

To be honest, I prefer the merged 16MP images as they stand out with their vibrant colors and contrast. In addition, 16-megapixel images have a wider dynamic range and better exposure.

But this is down to personal preference, and you can use 48MP images if you want to tweak something in post. However, most of us won’t bother with this, so it’s best to stick with binary 16MP photos most of the time.

So what about night mode? Well, that’s good. The first thing you should note is that regular photos taken in low light lack fine detail and are noisy. If this was taken in the middle of the night, the photos may look out of focus. But in this case, the night mode helps. This reduces noise and makes the image more attractive.

Photos taken in night mode are sharper and have better exposure. But still, low-light shots from the M31 aren’t all that great. However, I recommend using night mode more often. Ultra wide viewing angle Tap to view slideshow.

For the ultra wide angle camera, the 8MP sensor of the M31 is the same as the 8MP sensor of the M30. While I like the 12MP sensor, its 8MP sensor is pretty good in daylight. Ultra-wide images retain the same color profile as the main high-contrast sensor.

The images look pretty sharp, but you will notice some noise around the edges. Also, it doesn’t perform as well as the main sensor in low light. But this happens with all phones.

Now, speaking of portrait photos, I’m impressed. Well, I don’t have many samples because I haven’t met many people because of the pandemic. But I’m impressed with what I’ve seen so far.

The depth effect doesn’t look artificial and that’s what I usually look for in portrait photos. Moving on, edge detection is pretty good, but certainly not perfect. He cut some parts of my hair but he looks great in the mirror. I am very pleased with the results.

Last but not least, it also has a 5MP macro sensor, which is a good thing. You mostly get the 2MP macro sensor with phones other than the M31 in this category, so that extra detail makes the photos more appealing. But the color profile is different from the main sensor, it’s dim and doesn’t look bright. Check out the samples below!
