Like the Galaxy M31, some Samsung Galaxy A70 users in India have also reported similar blocking issues after installing the Android 10 One UI 2.0 update. The problem with the Galaxy A70 was caused by a difference in hardware, reports SamMobile. However, this is probably not the reason for the Galaxy M31.
Some reports also suggest that Samsung has stopped rolling out the update to the Galaxy M31 and Galaxy A70 to avoid further issues.

While Samsung might fix the problem in a later software update, the stranded phones won’t get any peace of mind until they reach the company’s service center, which is closed due to the nationwide lockdown. The company’s social media didn’t help users much either. Samsung has the ability to help customers remotely, but it’s unclear if the company plans to do so.

The Samsung Galaxy M21 looks almost the same as the Galaxy M31 (review) or even the Galaxy M30s. All of these phones are surprisingly light considering the 6,000mAh batteries on board. For consumers who prefer large batteries, this is a definite advantage.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max also offers a large 5,000mAh battery, but it is not as practical as those Samsung M-series phones.

The downside is that the shiny plastic back is a bit thin and cheap. Not that it’s much of a problem if you’re using a case. And frankly, the waterdrop notch looks dated.
The Galaxy M21 covers most of the essentials – Gorilla Glass 3 scratch resistance, a dedicated card slot, a USB Type-C charging port and an audio jack. The fingerprint sensor on the back is fast and reliable, so we’d always take Samsung’s sensors built into the optical display on the more expensive A-series phones.
So, in short, the Galaxy M21 doesn’t have a very premium feel, but it’s very well designed for a phone with a big battery and covers most of the basics.
The Galaxy M21 has a dot 6.4-inch AMOLED display and supports HD streaming on popular streaming apps like Netflix and Prime Video – something rival phones from Xiaomi or Realme can’t say.

Not all AMOLED screens are created equal, and the M21’s screen is expected to be worse than that of phones like the Galaxy A51, but it’s still a great screen for watching videos. Consumers can choose between two color profiles – vivid and natural – and enjoy the benefits of AMOLED, such as deep blacks in dark mode and always-on mode.
The screen isn’t particularly bright, but we didn’t face the occasional use of the phone in direct sunlight.
When it comes to performance, the Galaxy M21 really can’t match Realme and Xiaomi’s options. The Exynos 9611 that powers the phone isn’t particularly punchy and isn’t built for hardcore gamers, but it feels adequate for light to moderate daily use.
Games like PUBG are playable but the performance is not that smooth in default settings. In Smooth -extreme settings, the gameplay is quite responsive.

The higher-end Galaxy M31 lacks 4GB of RAM and starts at 6GB + 64GB. The M21 starts with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM + 64GB of storage, and there is also a 6GB + 128GB variant.
I definitely consider the well-designed OneUI 2.0 software (Android 10) to be a huge advantage over Realme UI and MIUI, but that’s a subjective thing and your preferences may differ. Ads and recommendations are not that intrusive, and the software is rich and well designed.

The quality deteriorates in low light. The Galaxy M31 performs relatively better. The Galaxy M21 has a night mode, but the camera struggles to focus in night mode. The 20-megapixel selfie camera does a decent job, but the camera on the Galaxy M31 does better in low light. 4K video recording is supported, but the best results are obtained with a resolution of 1080p and super constant on.
