The smartphone’s strength lies in its massive 6,000mAh battery, Super AMOLED display and 64MP quad rear cameras. I’ve been using this device for a while now and if you’re on a budget under $25,000, it’s worth buying. Read IndiaTV Tech’s review to find out.

Samsung Galaxy M31 Review, Specification, Design, Camera, Performance

If you compare it with the Galaxy M31, the Galaxy M31s gets some significant upgrades. Now the Infinity-O display instead of the Infinity-U display, we are getting better color options. The build quality of the smartphone is good. It is available in two colors: Phantom Black and Phantom Blue, the latter of which I chose. A whole ombre vibe (what the company calls a premium gradient) looks more distinct. Despite being made of plastic (which adds to the glassy feel), the device doesn’t feel cheap in the hand. It is comfortable to use and quite easy to use with one hand.

In terms of aesthetics, the Galaxy M31s has a rectangular quad-camera setup at the top left corner on the back. Apart from that, there is the company branding logo at the bottom of the back, which makes it look minimal and chic. On the front, there is a punch hole at the top to reduce the edges. The right side of the device houses the volume rocker and power on/off button, which doubles up as a fingerprint scanner, while the left side houses the SIM card tray. The top is left blank, and the bottom houses the 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port and speaker grill.

The smartphone has minimal features but looks sleek as it comes in a blue color option. A few design improvements over the Galaxy M31 make it a device worth buying.

The Galaxy M31s measures 6.5 inches and supports Full HD+ screen resolution. It is based on a Super AMOLED display panel with 20:9 aspect ratio. Rs. For a device that costs less than 1, a Super AMOLED display is great to have. 25,000. The device supports various display features like Adaptive Brightness, Dark Mode, Blue Light Filter, Screen Mode (Vivid or Natural), Always On Display and Accidental Touch Protection.

Like any other Samsung device, the display is bright and vivid. Content viewing (especially video streaming) is highly detailed and requires a well-lit display. Being a Super AMOLED display, the display does a good job of making blacks pop. The display is oversaturated and content is very prominent, a common phenomenon with Samsung phones. Among them, viewing angles are good and sharpness in sunlight is not bad.

The smartphone has four rear cameras: a 64MP Intelli-Cam main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 5MP depth sensor. The front camera is 32MP. The device has multiple camera features like LED flash, real-time focus, 4K video recording (rear and front cameras), slow motion video, AR filters, 5x zoom, single shot function, HDR and custom filters.

Starting with the rear camera, this department needs some praise! The cameras on Samsung phones started impressing me when I first reviewed the Galaxy M31, and the company’s jump from the M31 to the M31s has been impressive. Images are well rendered, details are highlighted. You get oversaturated images, which may disappoint those looking for a natural output (like me), but the vibrant colors make landscape images stunning. Most of the time, images don’t need any editing. The HDR mode is very good and does a good job of highlighting the dark areas of the image, the Live Focus produces a nice bokeh effect and the one-shot feature is a nice touch that turns out great pictures and videos without too much work. I also like this feature on the Galaxy S20+.

As for the front camera, the resulting selfies are above average. You see details and a lot of detail, but it didn’t impress me much. I feel the front camera works well in Samsung’s budget and mid-range phones. Among them, 4K video recording is quite good and slow motion and super-lapse videos are also pleasing to the eye. Also, the macro mode is good but lacks detail, and the night mode isn’t bad either.

Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: If It Aint Brokeā€¦

The Galaxy M31s is powered by an Exynos 9611 processor, identical to its predecessor, and comes in two RAM/storage options: 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB, as I found the base model. Storage options are expandable up to 512GB via memory card.

The smartphone is a decent device and generally performs like the Galaxy M31. Its performance is good and it can easily complete most tasks even with many apps running in the background. My daily tasks like watching videos, browsing the internet, clicking pictures and playing some popular games like Candy Crush Saga and Subway Surfers are fine. You will feel a little easier while using the device, but there is still some lag. Smartphones sometimes shutter, but this can be reduced if you reduce the animation from the settings.

Among them, the placement of fingerprint sensor is a good addition, which is capable of unlocking the device in 1 or 2 seconds. Audio quality is good, but can feel a little echoy at times.

The 6,000mAh battery is one of the main highlights of the Galaxy M31s and it turns out that the 25W fast charging is better than the 15W fast charging on the Galaxy M31. With the above mentioned usage, the smartphone was able to last more than a day, more than 2 days on standby. For me, it turned out to be pretty good. The device gets fully charged in just one hour without causing much problem. The Android 10-based Samsung One UI has a few minor improvements and it looks great. It’s sleeker, cleaner, and has new sections in the app drawer: “Personal” and “Discovery” for easier use. The annoying thing is the bloatware that comes with it (all the popular apps Samsung can use on your device) and some ads displayed through the Samsung Store and Samsung Browser.

Samsung Galaxy M31s Review: A Battery Powerhouse That Covers All The Basics

The Samsung Galaxy M31s, starting at Rs. 20,499, for a better device. With advanced cameras, Super AMOLED display and amazing battery life, the smartphone tries to match the company in its price segment. While it has a lot of what the Galaxy M31 already has, the better camera, punch-hole display and better design will make you fall in love with it. However, the older processor and some performance lag are the problem. Plus, it rivals the Realme X3 with its Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus processor and 120Hz display, and the slightly cheaper Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max.

Samsung Galaxy M31s starts at Rs 19,499 for 6GB+128GB and Rs 21,499 for 8GB + 128GB. If you are a heavy user, the extra RAM will help with multitasking, otherwise, the base model will suffice. Compared to the M31, the M31s is more expensive, but it features an Infinity-O display, 64MP quad cameras and a more premium overall form factor. Samsung has retained many features from its predecessor, so it’s hard to recommend it to Galaxy M31 owners. But if you’re using any other smartphone, it’s worth considering an upgrade.
