And this goes beyond comparison numbers. The actual performance of the Galaxy M62 is also better. As for the Snapdragon 730G Galaxy M51, everything here is smooth – apps open quite quickly, and multitasking is decent.
These games are also quite good on the Galaxy M62. In fact, better than Xiaomi’s Mi 10i. In PUBG Mobile, you can achieve HDR graphics and Ultra frame rates and play a stable 40 fps game with 40% FPS stability. On the other hand, the Mi 10i with the highest configuration has HD graphics and a high frame rate that only reaches 30fps.
Likewise, you can overclock it on the smooth graphics on the M62 and get a steady 52fps. Demanding games like COD run better on the M62, offering better framerates and stability over the phone. I tested other games like Genshin Impact and found that both phones gave the same fps mark.
However, the M62 can offer better fps stability, which means the phone will give you more stable gaming than the Mi 10i. One thing I’ve noticed during usage is that after long gaming sessions of the aforementioned titles on both phones, they almost always overheat. However, the M62 cools much faster than the Mi 10i.

Well, Samsung’s decision to include an older chip seems to have paid off. Yes, the M62 doesn’t support 5G like its competitors, but if you ask me, that’s not a deal breaker for someone living in South Asia.
Let’s not forget that, like the Galaxy M51, Samsung’s One UI is also well optimized on the M62. Also, unlike most other phones in its price range, the M62 comes with Android 11 out of the box and promises 4 years of security updates, something not seen on Chinese brands.
Another aspect Samsung has improved is design. It certainly looks better than the M51 if you ask me. But with a large 7000mAh battery and a 6.7-inch screen, it’s a huge phone weighing more than 200 grams. As a result, it is not very comfortable to use for long hours.
Also, the entire body of the phone is made of plastic like the M51. If you put it up against the Mi 10i, well, the M62 doesn’t get my vote in terms of design. I think the Mi 10i with dual Gorilla Glass 5 design takes the cake right away.
Android 12: Which Samsung Phones Will Receive The Update?
I think Samsung should introduce minimal color options on the M62 like last year’s S20 fan version. Although Samsung tried to update the new laser gradient design language, honestly the M62’s color options look dull.
As for the display, it’s similar to the Galaxy M51, meaning you get a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Plus display. It’s still stuck at a 60Hz refresh rate, which is a bit disappointing considering the Galaxy A32 4G’s 90Hz AMOLED display. And the phone is much cheaper than the M62.
Still, the actual quality of the panel is quite good. As usual, it is vibrant and very bright. Black levels are spotty, and you won’t experience any backlight bleeding or touch issues with this display.
In addition, the 7,000mAh cell won’t run out as easily with an energy-efficient AMOLED display and 7nm chipset. The phone gave me about two days of juice under normal use.

However, topping up the battery isn’t a joyous journey as the phone takes nearly two hours to fully charge with its proprietary 25W fast charger. This makes the Galaxy M62 one of those devices that you want to charge before going to bed.
Also, another thing that didn’t impress me that much about this device is the speaker. I wished the phone had stereo speakers, but like the M51, it doesn’t.
The sound quality from the single speaker isn’t bad, but as I said in my review of the Galaxy M51, the multimedia experience was something else, as the quality was matched by the stereo speakers.

Okay, finally let’s talk about the camera now. The Galaxy M62 has the same quad camera setup as the M51, including a 64MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP depth and macro sensor. To be honest, given the superior ISP and DSP of its flagship legacy, I was very impressed with the M62’s camera performance.
In some ways, this silicon advantage has worked very well. Currently, this may not be visible when viewing images of the M62. But when you compare it with other brokers, the difference is very clear.
