The plastic construction is made to look like glass with the finish, but it’s definitely not.
This particular review unit did get scratches on the rear panel during my use, but it was only noticeable on close inspection. So I recommend using a case.
The back houses a quad-camera setup with a rectangular camera module along with an oval fingerprint sensor. The edges are curved into the frame and the edges are also curved.
On the front, the sides are thin but the chin is still prominent. The buttons are on the right edge, while there is a tray containing two sims and micro-sd.

Continuing with my initial impressions, everything remains the same. Vivid colors and high contrast ratio. It’s perfect for YouTube, Netflix and gaming.
The screen is impressive for media consumption. But, it’s not that bright under strong sunlight. If you want to take photos or view content in the hot sun, you will have a bit of a difficult time.
The Always On display remains the same as always. You can customize it to a certain extent. You can also choose different color modes for the display. If you prefer more natural tones, you can use Natural mode or you can use Vivid mode. You can also adjust the warmth and make the color temperature tinted or warm.
Honestly, I’ve never been a big fan of the high megapixel sensor. I mean it’s great and all for capturing great detail, but I don’t really find it useful. After all, photos from our smartphones will only appear on social networks.

So what we get with Samsung Galaxy M31 is 64MP main sensor with 0.8μm pixel size. It’s a fairly large sensor that helps the sensor capture more light. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy M31 takes good photos. However, in typical Samsung style, it retains the same camera processing as other mid-range Samsung phones.
The Samsung Galaxy M31’s 16MP images are sharp, and the image processing has high contrast and saturation. The white balance you choose isn’t necessarily the most accurate, and you tend to choose a white balance that can bring out the colors in the scene.
The images have an ISO as low as 20, so their HDR is quite admirable. It manages to keep detail in the darker parts without blurring the lighter areas. I like the brightness of the grouped photos, it’s a bit brighter than usual but it helps the photos stand out.
Switching to 64MP images, they obviously have more detail. If you look at the photos side by side, it’s clear that the 48MP photo has more detail. However, the image looks flatter than the 16MP resolution image, the colors are muted and more natural. And it doesn’t sharpen the image as much as it does with the 16MP image. Also, 48MP images have an ISO as low as 40, and I think this is done to balance out the lack of HDR availability.

To be fair, I prefer 16MP resolution images because they stand out with sharp colors and contrast. Additionally, 16MP images have higher dynamic range and better exposure.
But it will come down to personal preference and you may want to use 48 MP images if you want to edit something in post-processing. Most of us won’t mind that though, so you’re better off sticking with 16MP stacked images most of the time.
So what is night mode? Yes, it’s good. The first thing to note is that normal images taken in low light don’t have good detail and are grainy. If shooting at night, the image may even be out of focus. But the night mode will help in this case. Reduce noise and make images more attractive.

Photos taken with night mode become sharper and have better exposure. However, the low-light image of the M31 is still not very good. However, I recommend using night mode most of the time. Super wide angle
Galaxy M31 Hands On: Small Improvements To Samsung’s Budget Phones
As for the ultra-wide camera, the M31’s 8 MP sensor is the same as the M30’s 8 MP sensor. While I like the 12MP sensor, its 8MP sensor is pretty good during the day. The ultra-wide image maintains the same color profile as the primary sensor with high contrast.
Images look pretty sharp, but you’ll notice some slight noise around the edges. Also, it doesn’t perform as well as the main sensor when it’s dark. But that’s what happens on all phones.
