You may remember the Galaxy A50 (review) from earlier this year. It was a sleek and attractive smartphone with features like an AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor and a solid battery life that made it well under Rs 20,000. an attractive design and updated hardware such as the new Exynos 9611 SoC and a 48MP triple camera setup.

Samsung Galaxy A50s Review With Pros And Cons

While the Galaxy A50 started at nearly Rs 20,000, the Galaxy A50s is available at a slightly higher starting price of Rs 20,999. Is the Galaxy A50s enough to make it worth buying under Rs 25,000? We’ll take a look to find out. Galaxy A50s design

When you hold the Galaxy A50s, it immediately reminds you of the Galaxy A50. It comes with the same sleepy, slim and light body we loved in the original model. The Galaxy A50s measures 7.7 mm and weighs just 166 grams, making it an extremely light and comfortable smartphone. The thin shape combined with the curved back panel offers a great feeling in the hand.

The curved back is made of plastic, which is a little disappointing for a phone above Rs 20,000. The plastic body makes the phone light and comfortable to hold, so that’s a positive trade-off if there is one. .

The biggest visual change comes to the panel itself, which gets a checkered pattern on the back where each field offers a different tone of the same color. The Galaxy A50s comes in Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White and Prism Crush Violet. The purple color really stands out from the pictures. I got the black variant which actually looks gray and offers a prismatic gradient when viewed from different angles.

Samsung Galaxy A50: Samsung Galaxy A50 Review: Slim Bezels, High Brightness And Sturdy Build Make This Smartphone A Hit

The Galaxy A50s is a tall phone, but it’s easy to work with in one hand. Reaching the top of the screen requires re-adjusting your grip, but the buttons are a good length and offer a very pleasant tactile feel. The volume buttons and power button are on the right side of the thin bezel. On the left is the SIM tray, which can accommodate two nano SIM cards and a microSD card. At the bottom of the frame, you can see a 3.5mm headphone jack and a speaker bezel on either side of the Type-C port. Galaxy A50s display

Samsung hasn’t changed anything on the screen, and rightly so. The Galaxy A50 offered a stunning 6.4-inch FHD+ (2340×1080) Super AMOLED Infinity-U display, which also returns on the Galaxy A50s. Unsurprisingly, the AMOLED screen looks great with vivid colors, excellent brightness levels and viewing angles.

The Galaxy A50s has a 1080p resolution that is crisp and sharp for watching videos, playing games and reading text. As an added bonus, the phone also comes with Widevine L1 certification, meaning you’ll be able to stream content on platforms like Netflix and Prime Video in true HD quality. Samsung uses the newer 2.3GHz SoC chip Exynos 9611 in the Galaxy A50s. The A50 got the Exynos 9610. The difference between the two processors is marginal, so don’t expect a massive performance boost. The Exynos 9611 is based on the 10nm FinFET process and features a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU like its predecessor.

Samsung Galaxy A50 Smartphone, 4gb Ram, 6.4

Out of the box, the Galaxy A50s feels like you’d expect. Apps open and load quickly and I didn’t experience any crashes during use. The 6GB RAM model we reviewed would handle switching between apps with ease, although you may experience some stuttering while doing so.

The Galaxy A50s performs well enough for everyday use such as browsing the internet or social media apps, messaging and video streaming. However, it won’t feel exceptionally fluid or smooth, as you’ll experience some stuttering when scrolling through apps. Games like PUBG will run fine on medium graphics, but anything higher will cause framerate drops and lag. The 10nm chipset is quite efficient and helps reduce battery drain while playing games.

Overall, the Galaxy A50s delivers decent mid-range performance, but much more is expected from phones above Rs 20,000 these days. Its speed is nowhere near what the Redmi K20 delivers in this category. It even feels weaker than the Realme XT, which costs around Rs 16,000. As long as you don’t stress too much, the Galaxy A50s should be fine, but you need to consciously hold back.

The Galaxy A50s comes with One UI based on Android Pie. It’s unclear when the phone will be updated to Android 10, but Samsung has been fairly consistent in updating its portfolio to the latest version of Android. Now you’ll be aware that One UI offers a system-wide dark mode that the Galaxy A50s AMOLED screen can really take advantage of.

One UI also brings a cleaner, smoother interface with a new layout that lets you get the most out of your work with just one hand. Aside from a few Samsung apps, Microsoft Office apps, and third-party apps like Helo, DailyHunt, and Snapchat, you won’t find much bloatware on the Galaxy A50s.

The Galaxy A50s comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock. Both biometric options are slower compared to what brands like Oppo, Realme and Vivo deliver. For example, the fingerprint sensor is slow and the animation is not smooth. The bottom speaker can be loud but not very clear at higher levels. The Galaxy A50s also supports Dolby Atmos surround sound via cable and Bluetooth headphones. Galaxy A50s camera

Samsung has updated the triple camera setup on the Galaxy A50s. While the A50 offered a 25-megapixel primary camera, the Galaxy A50s gets a 48-megapixel sensor, keeping it up to date with the competition. The other two cameras in the setup have an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. The selfie camera has also been bumped up from 25MP to a 32MP sensor.

The Galaxy A50s cameras certainly look capable of taking on the likes of the Redmi K20 and Realme XT. The main camera is capable of taking very nice pictures in daylight, which is not surprising. If there is enough light in your environment, the Galaxy A50s will take attractive photos.

Google Pixel 3a Vs. Samsung Galaxy A50

However, the phone starts to struggle in low light. The dedicated night mode still falls short of the kind of computer photography that Oppo and Xiaomi can deliver. Images are grainy, despite the noise reduction doing its best, and the overall image appears softer rather than bright and detailed.

You can easily switch between the main camera and the wide-angle lens to add more space in the frame. The wide angle is useful in difficult places or if you are looking for a new angle. Keep in mind that the quality will take a hit when switching to a wide-angle 8-megapixel lens. Compared to the high-resolution main camera, wide-angle photos lack detail and sharpness. The change in color tone is also noticeable and the image will appear darker compared to the main camera.

The Galaxy A50s can capture sharp and beautiful videos in 1080p and 4K resolution. It can record 4K videos at 30fps, which looks pretty good, but it’s shaky compared to 1080p recording. The camera has some EIS (electronic stabilization) for 1080p recording, which is decent enough if you’re shooting handheld while walking.

The updated front camera also takes clear and natural selfies in daylight, provided the beautification effect has been disabled. Selfie sharpness and clarity will decrease as it gets darker, whether indoors or after sunset. Galaxy A50s battery

Samsung Galaxy A50 Review: A Beautiful Powerhouse

Samsung didn’t feel the need to upgrade the battery inside the Galaxy A50s. It has the same 4000mAh capacity as the original A50, which is fine. The Galaxy A50s will last you all day on a single charge, but don’t expect the phone to last longer. I found the battery life to be pretty consistent no matter what I did throughout the day. Standby battery drain is minimal, and you can use the Always On Display feature without worrying about significant battery drain.

The Galaxy A50s supports up to 15W fast charging, but the company only offers a 10W charger in the box. If you have a 15W charger, you can fully charge
