The Samsung Galaxy A12 is a budget smartphone that has a lot going for it, from excellent battery life to an imaginative and attractive design, but its day-to-day performance is so slow that all these good points take their toll.
£169 for a phone with four cameras, a big battery and a generous display, all packed into an attractive package?
It sounds tempting on paper, but how does it hold up in reality? The Motorola Moto G8 puts a dent in that price tag, unfortunately for less than the sum of the Galaxy A12’s parts.
This is of course a personal preference, but we think the Samsung Galaxy A12 is one of the best plastic phones you can buy.

The matte surface runs on both sides of the tube and the diagonal pattern covers the upper back. The lower part does not detract from the look, creating a lovely two-tone look.
