Update Samsung Galaxy A12 Dimensions Review

Update Samsung Galaxy A12 Dimensions Review – Samsung has given its budget line a big boost with the Galaxy A12, adding a bigger display, a better camera, and a better game. Some corners had to be cut in the electronics department, but this is one of the best phones under $200 on the market.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 phone is more than just an updated version of the Galaxy A11 – with a bigger battery, more cameras, and more on board. Consumers will also appreciate Samsung’s ability to keep its price under $200. How good is this new development? Let’s find out in our Samsung Galaxy A12 review.

A new version of this device is available: Samsung Galaxy A14 5G is here. It offers a design inspired by the Galaxy S23, packs a wide-angle camera, and sticks with the tried and true Dimensity 700 processor for another year. Check out our Samsung Galaxy A14 5G review.

Samsung Galaxy A12 Review: Sluggish But Stylish Starter Smartphone

Samsung announced its Galaxy A12 as a direct successor to the Galaxy A11 in November 2020 before bringing it to the US in April 2021. It was replaced by the Galaxy A13 series.

The Galaxy A12 offers a total of six different configurations to match one of Samsung’s cheapest phones, starting with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. However, there are only three available in the United States at this time (listed above). Whichever way you go, you can also choose from a range of colors – red, blue, black, and white.

Our Samsung Galaxy A12 came with Android 10 on board, although an update to Android 11 and Samsung’s One UI 3.1 is available via OTA. It also ran the Android security patch dated July 1, 2021 during testing. It should get two years of software updates and a total of four years of security, which will carry the Galaxy A12 until late 2024 or early 2025. Our unit did not receive the Android 12, but it should go faster.

Moving on to the software, you’ll find the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC powering Samsung’s entry-level processor. RAM and storage options top at 6GB and 128GB, respectively, and you can go further with a microSD slot. A 5,000mAh battery and a 6.5-inch HD + panel wrap everything up, and the display is completed with an Infinity-V notch. In India, there is a Helio P35 replacement for Samsung’s Exynos 850 chipset.

Samsung Galaxy A12 Review: Design

Samsung has abandoned its wireless earphones now, although it still offers a charging case with a USB-C cable. You get a SIM ejector tool and a basic guide, if you need help going down. The Samsung Galaxy A12 is also available on Verizon, Cellular, and AT&T.

Budget-oriented phones seem almost willing to add fingerprint-resistant and magnetic backs in order to have better ventilation. Thankfully, Samsung’s Galaxy A12 is upping the ante, but opting for a slimmer design that feels flimsy in the hand. I also appreciate the raised horizontal ridges, as they add a bit of pride to the overall image.

The large 6.5-inch display means a good grip is required if you intend to slide the case around. While that display sticks to HD+ resolution, it’s still sharp enough to keep up with your latest programming. We still recommend the headphone jack, and wired headphones are the best way to enjoy sound on the Galaxy A12 other than the mono speaker that burns down.

Samsung also decided to leave the fingerprint reader of the Galaxy A11 in the past. Instead, the Galaxy A12 uses a side-by-side option, which is faster, easier to use, and cleans up the overall look of the device.

Samsung Galaxy A12 Nacho Is A Great Budget Phone From Samsung

The integrated fingerprint sensor and matte finish give the Galaxy A12 a clean look and premium feel.

Rounding out the rear is a Samsung camera, flanked by a 48MP shooter, which is pretty decent for a camera phone (check out later on this consideration for example). You can also opt for wide and ultrawide cameras for more flexibility. The camera app is a breeze to navigate, although it may take a minute or two to find the main button because it’s hidden in the More tab.

Samsung’s One UI is one of the best Android skins on the market right now, and it’s better than ever on the Galaxy A12. Basically, the Samsung Free app is like Google’s Discover feed but with a kick. Instead of just providing news, Samsung Free brings Samsung TV Plus, Samsung Podcasts, Taboola News, and Fast Games to one place. Best of all, you don’t have to spend a dime on everything.

The Galaxy A12 is a battery savior, at least in terms of holding a price. I had no problems getting a good two days of use between light gaming, answering emails, and browsing social media.

Is It Worth Buying Samsung Galaxy A12?

The Samsung Free app would be a nice addition to the overall package, but Samsung didn’t stop there when deciding how much to add to its Android app. Unfortunately, there are a lot of additional features on the Galaxy A12 that have a lot of space. It comes with a full set of Google apps and Samsung apps that cause a lot of loss. Microsoft also has options such as Office, OneDrive, and Outlook. You also have access to the Samsung Store, Galaxy Shop, and Galaxy Store – how many people really need two Samsung stores and one Sports Store?

The good news is that you can uninstall Microsoft, but it doesn’t do much to help the Galaxy A12 run. MediaTek’s Helio P35 doesn’t always seem up to the task of powering the 6.5-inch display, and jumping between apps slows things down even more. The limited RAM and storage doesn’t help, so you might want to look for the 4GB RAM/64GB version if you can afford it.

There are three different programs, two different stores, and Samsung stores are too many.

Although Samsung has installed a strong main lens on the Galaxy A12, the best options are not always the best. The lens offers only 2MP, and it takes a few attempts to achieve the clear image below. You won’t find a special night mode on the Galaxy A12 either, so you’ll have to do some trial and error outside of daylight hours.

While all phones add a little magic after pressing the shutter button, the result of the photos taken on the Galaxy A12 is often better than what the camera showed. For example, the lower image below looked dark when I pressed the shutter button, and no comparison image looks as clean as what you see. Most of the time, it looks like a surprise in the end, but judging your shot is a little tricky. The model is also not good for tracing the edges, as you can see in the example with my hair.

Samsung may have installed a powerful battery in its Galaxy A12, but the 15W of the charging speed is very bad, even for a cheap phone. I was able to go from 3% to 23% charge after 30 minutes, and the full charge took over two hours.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 is a strong upgrade over the Galaxy A11 in almost every way. What this budget phone brings to the table is a 48MP primary camera, good battery life, and Samsung’s clean and beautiful One UI software. Unfortunately, the side cameras don’t pack a punch, and scrolling can be frustrating, but it’s a bargain. expected at this price.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 is an upgrade over the Galaxy A11 in almost every way and is perfect for someone buying their first smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A13 Review: Slow And Steady Loses The Race

It’s been a long time since the launch of the Galaxy A12, and Samsung’s phone has changed many times. Samsung’s Galaxy A14 5G ($399 at Amazon) comes with a Galaxy S23-inspired design that feels more affordable in the hand. The new model is also scheduled for some software updates due to its launch date of 2023. You can also check out the Motorola Moto G 5G ($199 on Amazon), which sits in the same place in Motorola’s line. It sports the same plastic design and 15W wireless charging, although it can’t match Samsung’s review. Another option to consider is the OnePlus Nord N300 ($228 at OnePlus). The Nord is more affordable in terms of simplicity, with only two rear cameras and a clean black design. It raises the stakes in the speed of cable sales, too.

The Galaxy A12 picks up where the Galaxy A11 left off, with an extra camera, a bigger battery, and a new back panel. Grab your Infinity-V display and see what Samsung can do. Galaxy A12
