Update Samsung A50s 4 128gb Price Review – Now that the leaks and rumors have been put to rest, Samsung has finally unveiled the refreshed successor to the Galaxy A50 in South Korea. The Samsung Galaxy A50s was introduced alongside its little brother, the Galaxy A30s, the successor to last year’s Galaxy A30. Now a new contender for the title of “best smartphones under 40,000” Galaxy A50 is available in Nepal for NPR 38,990.
The Samsung Galaxy A50s feels like nothing more than an iterative upgrade. This means that there are no major upgrades when comparing the phone to the earlier version of the Galaxy A50. The phone has the same design and build quality as the A50. It also has the same front glass and plastic body with a similar vertical placement of the triple camera on the back. There is a dewdrop notch on the front that covers the selfie camera. On the bottom edge, you’ll find the same USB Type-C charging port in the middle of the 3.5mm headphone jack and speaker grille.

Speaking of the screen, I did not notice the difference. The phone sports the same 6.4-inch display with 1080 x 2340 resolution, 403 ppi pixel density and 19.5:9 aspect ratio protected by Gorilla Glass 3. However, with an 85.1% screen-to-body ratio, the new A50s has slightly more screen compared to the predecessor A50’s 84.9% screen-to-body ratio.

The A50s display has a sleek fingerprint sensor. The phone shines in four different color options; Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White, Prism Crush Purple and Prism Crush Green.
As mentioned above, the A50s isn’t a huge upgrade over the A50, aside from the lack of camera pixels it has. The new phone has three cameras, with a 48-megapixel main camera compared to the 25-megapixel main camera on the A50. In addition, this main camera is assisted by an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel f/2.2 depth sensor. The rear cameras can capture panoramas and HDR shots, while 2160p and 1080p video can be shot at 30fps.
And for selfies, the A50s has an improved 32MP f/2.0 camera sensor on the front, capable of capturing HDR photos and recording 1080p video at 30fps.
The Samsung Galaxy A50s has the same under the hood as its big brother A50. This means that the phone is equipped with a proprietary Exynos 9611 octa-core processor, a 10nm chipset (like in the Galaxy M40) supported by a Mali-G72 MP3 on the graphics side.

In terms of memory, the device comes in two variants, either a combination of 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, or 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both of these options can be expanded up to 1 TB using a dedicated slot.
There is no difference in the battery part either, the same 15W 4000mAh battery powers the A50s. The A50s also runs the latest OneUI on top of Android 9.0 (Pie).
Since the phone doesn’t have a standout feature compared to the A50 from half a year ago, the price in Nepal for the Samsung Galaxy A50s should be similar to the price of the A50 at launch. They say,

Samsung Galaxy A50s Gets Single Take, Night Hyperlapse With Latest Update: Report
The Samsung Galaxy A50 is one of the best smartphones you can buy for under 30,000 in Nepal and we are sure that the A50s (6/128 GB) should conquer the under 40,000 category. The Samsung Galaxy A50s launched in August 2019 with Android 9 Pie and is currently running Android 10.
The Samsung Galaxy A50s has started receiving a new firmware update with camera improvements and the January 2021 security patch in India. The phone has not yet been updated to Android 11 and is still running Android 10. The latest update has build number A507FNXXU5CUB3 and is said to bring new camera features such as Single Take and Night Hyperlapse to the Samsung Galaxy A50s. With the update, the My Filters feature was also added to the phone. These camera features were introduced in the Samsung Galaxy S20 series.
The Galaxy A50s is getting camera performance improvements and security improvements with the latest update. According to a Tizenhelp report, it adds a Single Take feature to the phone, allowing users to capture multiple photo and video formats at the same time by pressing the shutter button. Night Hyperlapse, as the name suggests, allows you to record video with hyperlapse in low light conditions. The My Filter feature lets you create your own filters that you can save to use on other images. You can create and save up to 99 custom filters. These features were first introduced with the Samsung Galaxy S20 series and Samsung is bringing them to its mid-range smartphones.
According to the report, the update is 219MB in size. If you haven’t received an update notification, you can go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install to see if it has reached your Samsung Galaxy A50s. If not, wait a few days and it should appear automatically.

Along with the camera improvements, the Samsung Galaxy A50s is also getting the January 2021 security patch. It has been running the November 2020 security patch so far. The phone is still running Android 10 with One UI 2.5 on top and still There is no word yet on when the phone will be updated to Android 11. In terms of looks, the Samsung Galaxy A50s doesn’t have much that’s new. When we reviewed the Galaxy M20 (review), one of Samsung’s first aggressive models, we noted how versatile it is and how it differs from the company’s previous models. Similarly, the Galaxy A50s can easily be confused with any of today’s many major brand phones, no matter what angle you look at it from.
The front of this phone is made up almost entirely of a screen with a small camera notch at the top (Samsung calls this design “Infinity-U”). The corners of the screen are rounded and the chin is quite thick, while the side and top bezels are significantly narrower. The edges are very slightly curved, and we note with interest that this is one of the few phones we reviewed recently that didn’t come with a plastic screen protector already stuck on, which we don’t mind, even appreciate.
On the back we have one touch of personality that Samsung decided to showcase – an off-center geometric pattern of intersecting lines with different shades of color in each segment. There are three options: Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White, and Prism Crush Violet – our test unit is the black version, but the colors on the back are different shades of grey.
Luckily, this design isn’t as prone to smudges and fingerprints as the Galaxy A50’s mirror finish, but it still needs to be wiped down a few times a day to keep it looking its best. In some types of lighting, there is still a very slight prismatic effect, though much more subtle than the psychedelic reflections we saw on this phone’s predecessor.
