Samsung is going wild in India. The company launched the new Galaxy M10 and M20 in this market last month, followed by the M30 a few days ago. And there’s no stopping it, as the South Korean giants have launched another trio of devices in India: the Galaxy A10, A30 and A50. The A30 and A50 were actually unveiled at MWC last week, so there’s not much new here.

The A10 features a 6.2-inch HD+ LCD display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, Exynos 7884B, 13MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, 5MP selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture, and a 4,000mAh battery. There is no fingerprint reader and the phone is powered by a micro USB port that only provides 5W when charging. We don’t even want to imagine how long that 4000 mAh battery will take to fully charge.

Samsung Galaxy A53 5g Review: Safe, Sensible, And A Must Buy
Despite what Samsung might believe, the Galaxy series doesn’t start and end with the S and Note lines. Samsung’s flagships may get the attention, but you can’t ignore those who don’t have the best part of the grand to drop on the latest phones.
That’s where the Samsung Galaxy A50 comes in, and it’s brilliant. At first glance, it looks like the Galaxy S10, but offers a very fast experience without maximizing the effective graphics inside. It’s an absolute steal at £310 and worth considering if the S and Note ranges are a bit pricey for you.
The Galaxy A series is very, very confusing. What you really need to know is that the Galaxy A50 is currently second only to the A70. When the A80 launches later this month, it will soon be the third. This basically makes it better than the A10, A20e and A40.
Specifically, this translates to a 6.4-inch device that looks a lot like the Samsung Galaxy S10, but slimmed down inside. Powering the phone is a 2.3GHz octa-core Exynos 9610 processor, roughly equivalent to the Snapdragon 675 that confounds the Galaxy A70. The phone is also supported by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

For the price, the Samsung Galaxy A50 comes with a triple-camera setup on the back, with a depth sensor and an ultra-wide lens accompanying a 25-megapixel primary snapper. The A50 also comes with Samsung’s usual Super AMOLED display, which is impressive when competitors in this price range often opt for cheaper IPS screens. What’s more, it includes an in-screen fingerprint reader.
So what’s the harm? Well, wouldn’t you know it at a very reasonable price of £310. It’s actually a bit cheaper than Samsung’s other smartphones, so its closest competitors come from other manufacturers.
First up is our favorite mid-ranger, the Google Pixel 3a. A scaled-down version of Google’s flagship, this version is a bit slower, less impressive and drops a few features to £399, but already sells for around £350. Along the same lines, the P30 Lite is a smaller version of Huawei’s P30 series and retails at £329.
Alternatively, there’s the Xiaomi Pocophone F1, a mid-range wearable flagship. It’s a phone that somehow only costs £329 despite having the fastest Qualcomm mobile processor of 2018. Finally, there’s the Nokia 8.1, which starts at £380, but is a lot cheaper than it’s been lately.

It’s a tough competition, but the Samsung Galaxy A50 is off to a good start, and it owes a lot to the Galaxy S10. Hence, there is no bezel to speak of, although this version does see the return of the notch for the front camera. Here, however, it’s more of a notch – a small indentation at the top of the phone.
Like the S10, the phone has a very small chin at the bottom, but it’s really noticeable because there’s almost no bezel on the other sides. The back is slightly curved and it’s plastic rather than glass, which should make it a bit more durable. It’s still the kind of phone you want to protect with some kind of case, mind.
What’s interesting about a phone of this price is that the fingerprint scanner is built into the screen, meaning it’s not visible on the phone itself. Just slide your finger down the screen and the phone unlocks – maybe a hair slower than a regular phone, but still a nice feature for the price.
In terms of other features, as usual, Samsung does very well. Expandable storage? Check: microSD cards up to 512 GB are supported. A headphone jack? Current and correct. With two sim cards? Yes sir. The only two downsides I could find are that it’s not waterproof and doesn’t support wireless charging, but you can’t get everything for this price.

If Samsung is known for its phones, it’s the quality of its screens. And that Super AMOLED display doesn’t disappoint – this time you’re looking at a 6.4-inch panel with a resolution of 2340 x 1080.
The display displays 100% of the sRGB spectrum and displays colors very accurately in the display’s primary color mode. The other modes – Photo, Movie and Adaptive – are all a bit more dynamic, but you can’t say you’re out of options.
Being AMOLED, the contrast is perfect and the brightness is not too bad
