On the plus side, the Narzo 20A should be much less prone to scratches and dents and can be used with confidence. Another positive aspect of the Narzo 20A’s design is that it is surprisingly light, especially for a phone with a 5,000 mAh battery.

One notable aspect of the Narzo 20A is that, like its predecessor 10A model, it uses a Legacy microUSB 2.0 port. Charging is limited to 10W, so the 5,000mAh pack can be a bit boring. At least Realme is kind enough to include a wall charger in the box.

There are also some positive aspects regarding I/O, such as the inclusion of a reliable 3.5mm jack. It’s located on the phone’s bottom frame, next to the main microphone and the Narzo 20A’s single speaker.

The three-slot tray is a nice touch. It takes two nano SIM cards along with a microSD memory card, so you don’t have to choose.

The Narzo 20A’s controls are standard and well-placed. The two volume rockers and power button are easy to feel around and offer good tactile feedback.

The rear-mounted fingerprint reader is quick to install and unlocking the phone is very quick and accurate.

6.5 inches on Narzo 20A; It has a 20:9 IPS LCD resolution and 720 x 1600 pixels. That amounts to an impressive 270 ppi; However, we cannot even say that the panel lacks sharpness. It still works fine in our book. Additionally, the more vanilla Narzo 10 uses the same interface.

Before publishing review notes; I can’t say much about other performance metrics on the panel, but in practice. LCD needs full brightness but can still be used in direct sunlight. The text is easy to read and the overall experience; It is sufficient and acceptable.

Again, we can’t give away details before proper testing, but in our initial testing we found the 5,000mAh pack could easily fit a second pack inside the cards depending on usage, and could easily last a full day with Wi-Fi.

Realme Narzo 20A is powered by the 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset, which is an upgrade of the 12nm MediaTek Helio G70 in the Narzo 10A. However, in the benchmarks we ran the two chipsets were swapped and performance was generally similar.

For reference, we can use the Realme C3 with the same G70 chipset and see that the Narzo 20A is actually slightly behind in the single-core results.

In the AnTuTu 8 test, Realme C3 managed to gain a 13% advantage. This isn’t a huge difference, but it’s a clear indication that the chipset change isn’t due to increased performance.

In terms of GPU horsepower; The Adreno 610 in the Narzo 20A and the Mali-G52 2EEMC2 in the Narzo 10A are the same; the latter is a bit forward and not impressive in any way.

However, the Snapdragon 665 brings some connectivity goodness to the table. What the Narzo 10A notably lacks is dual-band Wi-Fi ac.

It performs almost on par with its predecessor, the Narzo 20A, and runs the Android 10-based Realme UI with crisp responsiveness that makes everyday productivity tasks and even some light gaming a bit of an issue.

The Narzo 20A is slightly lighter in terms of camera compared to its Narzo siblings. There’s a single 12MP camera on the back, two secondary 2MP cameras for capturing most of the shots, and two secondary cameras for depth and macro photography.

The 12MP camera has a 1.25µm sensor with f/1.8 aperture and 1/2.8″ PDAF. There’s nothing quite like the setup on the Narzo 10A.

There’s nothing really fancy on the software side of the camera, but you do get AI Scene recognition and a Pro mode for photos. The Narzo 20A has a notable feature in video recording: 4K recording. That wasn’t the case with the Narzo 10A, but even the vanilla Narzo 20 is covered in FullHD on the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset.

We took some quick test shots with the Realme Narzo 20A’s main 12MP camera. Performance with and without HDR can be viewed with Chroma enhancement enabled.

The default icons are very similar to AOSP. The same goes for the notification shade and quick buttons area, as well as the recent apps interface.

By default you get the traditional app drawer. Some of the notable pre-installed apps are Realme PaySa and Realme Link.

If you don’t like the app drawer concept and prefer a plain layout, you can do that too. There’s even a simple mode with larger fonts and icons; Great for less experienced or older users. This is just the tip of the customization iceberg that realme UI offers. Navigation has a surprisingly deep layer of customization, including lots of gestures.

The included Game Space portal is surprisingly feature-rich. In addition to standard convenience features like muting calls and notifications to prevent interruptions, there are also performance boosts with the Narzo 20A and its nifty hardware that you can take advantage of to get more gaming time or more stable frame rates.
