Update Samsung 8 Gb 128 Gb Review – The S22 Ultra 5G is the flagship model of the latest Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphones. While other versions of the S22 offer upgrades, the S22 Ultra is the most notable for its close resemblance to the Galaxy Note20 phablet released in 2020.

In fact, the S22 Ultra doesn’t look like the S-series phones that came before it. It’s basically a doppelgänger of the Note 20 Ultra. Not to mention, the S22 Ultra comes with a built-in S Pen like the Note series. And it’s the first S phone to have one.

S22 Ultra comes in four colors burgundy (lit), green, black and white. The Samsung Online Store will have additional colors of Graphite, Sky Blue and Red. The flagship device comes with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM, while the 256GB and 512GB models come with 12GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy A32 Review: A Little Too Slow For 2021

If I have the Note20 with me and put it next to the S22 Ultra, I think it’s the same phone. But that’s a good thing, because the S22 Ultra is a good-looking phone.

When you hold it in your hand, it feels stylish with ultra-thin bezels, curved sides and a front-facing camera.

The Ultra screen has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz for smooth movement and to prevent screen tearing during gaming. You can set the display mode between variable – which changes the refresh rate to 120Hz depending on the content – and standard (60Hz). I think Samsung should include a 120Hz option. Many, like me, would love to be able to set the refresh rate to 120Hz all the time, even when battery life is taking a hit.

Even so, the show looks pretty cool. Its viewing angles are wide and colors are vivid and sharp. Everything will just look better. I can wonder and show all day. Not to mention, the back of the S22 Ultra has a nice matte finish that makes it resistant to fingerprints and smudges.

And unlike the large rear camera module found in the Note20 Ultra, the S22 Ultra has none. You can see the little mirrors coming out of the back of it. This is probably the most underrated camera feature you’ll ever see on a smartphone.

The S22 Ultra has the same front and rear cameras as the S21 Ultra. In other words, it has the same front camera as a 40 MP camera and a quad rear camera with 12 MP Ultra-wide-angle camera, 108 MP main wide-angle camera, 10 MP telephoto camera (3x optical zoom) and 10 MP. telephoto camera (10x optical zoom). This gives you a very comfortable focal length for taking pictures near and far.

However, the S22 Ultra’s 108MP main camera has a larger pixel sensor that allows more light to be captured. Therefore, it should provide more information and clearer images, especially in night scenes. By default, the 108MP camera uses pixel-binning technology, which combines nine pixels into one to create 12MP images. 108 MP High Resolution must be enabled to get 108 MP photos.

Samsung Galaxy A34 Review: Software, Performance

Comparing the 108MP and 12MP images in photos taken on the same day, the former looks sharper and more detailed. However, high-resolution images take up to six times more storage space than normal.

Regardless, the high-quality and high-quality images are beautiful and colorful and versatile. Clouds will look good even if you are shooting on a cloudy day.

The cameras with 3x and 10x optical zoom also provide sharp images in bright sunlight. But you probably don’t want to use them at night.

Compared to telephoto wide-angle and wide-angle cameras, night shots taken with zoom cameras tend to show noise and distortion. However, the main camera’s night shots give the best results with good exposure and detail in the shadow areas.

Like the S22 and S22+, the S22 Ultra can shoot in RAW format. This RAW format allows you to have more latitude and control when editing images to make them look the way you want your images to look.

To do this, you need to download and use the RAW Expert software. It’s like a camera app but with more image controls like ISO, aperture and shutter speed.

One of the good news is the S22 Ultra with its latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, instead of Samsung’s more powerful Exynos processor that was usually found in most of the S models in Singapore. As such, you should expect fast and smooth performance from the S22 Ultra.

In the GeekBench 5 benchmarking test, the S22 Ultra scored 1,197 (single-core) and 3,183 (multi-core). Although it was good, I expected the service to be better. In comparison, the Oppo Find X3 Pro scored 934 (single-core) and 3,411 (multi-core) while the Xiaomi 11T Pro scored 810 (single-core) and 3,331 (multi-core). Both have the same Snapdragon 888 chip.

The review unit comes with only 8GB of RAM, which probably explains the limited performance. However, none can beat the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max with scores of 1,737 (single-core) and 4,757 (multi-core).

However, apps launch quickly and there is no lag in anything I test. In addition, the clear design makes everything look better. For example, playing Pokemon Go on the S22 Ultra has a “fast” feel when throwing Pokeballs at opponents.

This also applies when using the S22 Ultra’s built-in S Pen. It is said to have a low latency of 2.6 milliseconds, compared to 9 milliseconds previously. I think the difference is probably too small for you or me to hear.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Review: The S Erious Successor To Note20

All I know is that everything works flawlessly from the moment you pull out the S Pen from the bottom of the phone. You can create notes, write your thoughts on an open screen and quickly translate words by highlighting them. The S Pen feels responsive and there are many types of brushes to choose from.

Unlike the S21 Ultra and Z Fold3, you don’t need to get a case to store the S Pen as there is a place on the S22 Ultra to store it. This is very simple.

My only gripe is the lack of a microSD card slot. In other words, there is no additional storage. In Singapore, there is no 1TB option unlike other markets. So if you have a lot of photos and videos like me, you will find your storage space limited in no time. Especially if you decide to shoot in RAW format.

The battery life is very good. With its display set to adjustable refresh rate, the S22 Ultra clocked in at 14 hours and 16 minutes on our standard loop battery test.

Although these results may lag behind the vivo X70 Pro and the Xiaomi 11T Pro (their tests were performed at a refresh rate of 120Hz), they are comparable to the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Huawei P50 Pro.

However, battery life depends on your usage. During my 12-hour workday of regularly checking email and watching various TV feeds, I often find that I still have about 50 percent battery left when I go to bed.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G is probably the most versatile Android smartphone on the market right now. It builds on last year’s excellent Galaxy S21 Ultra and combines it with now-defunct features like the S Pen.

Combined with its sleek design, fast performance, excellent image quality and a stunning 10x optical zoom camera, it’s a surefire way to win.
