Update S21 Ultra Price 5g Review – Samsung has released the 2021 Galaxy S21 Series. January is more than one month earlier than February of usual years. The new smartphones offer major improvements such as slightly brighter displays, faster chipsets and storage, and improved software. But with all of that, the Galaxy S21 starts at $799, which is $200 less than the Galaxy S20.
The price of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G flagship smartphone is $ 1,199, which is $ 200 cheaper than last year’s Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G. According to Counterpoint’s Component Practice Research, the S21 Ultra costs 7% less to manufacture than its predecessor. These cost savings also come with the charger and headphones out of the box.

As Samsung skipped the flagship note series this year, the S21 Ultra supported the spen (sold separately) and was the first to mount it in the s series. With all these updates, did Samsung do enough to deliver the best possible Android experience? This is a long-term review of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G that has been used for more than 6 months.
Samsung S21 Ultra One Ui 5 Update Release Date
Samsung has always focused on CMF (color, material, finish) in both the Galaxy S and Note lines, and the new S21 series is no exception. At the launch event, Samsung took the time to explain the lengthy process behind the flawless black finish. Finally, it landed on a black film topped with foggy glass (Gorilla Glass Victus).
The result is a clean, sleek black finish that not only provides a good grip when holding the phone, but also protects it from smudges and fingerprints. Even after 6 months of use without a case or screen protector, the Gorilla Glass Victus has held up flawlessly so far.
The rear camera bump is still present and the phone shakes when placed face up on a table, but it’s not a deal breaker. The module bends perfectly to the body of the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Long Term Review
Samsung opted for a slightly brighter display (1,500 nits) than the S20 Ultra (1,400 nits). Enjoy HD content in stunning clarity with wide viewing angles and vivid colors. Whether you’re playing a game or binge-watching on Netflix or YouTube, the viewing experience is fantastic. There is a punch hole for the front camera at the top center of the screen, but it doesn’t get in the way while watching videos or playing games.
Unlike the Galaxy S20 Ultra, you no longer have to choose between highest resolution and highest refresh rate. Instead, you can now get an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate at WQHD resolution. An interesting highlight of the display is the use of Low Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide (LTPO) technology to ensure optimal battery usage. This allows the display to intelligently switch between 10Hz and 120Hz depending on the content on the screen.
For example for static wallpapers or when reading emails. The refresh rate may drop to 10Hz. When playing graphics-intensive games or watching videos and movies, the screen refresh rate is automatically increased to 120Hz. There is an option to uniformly reduce the refresh rate to 60Hz, but I can’t force it to run continuously at 120Hz, which is not a problem.
For security reasons, Samsung uses Qualcomm’s second-generation ultrasonic fingerprint scanner under the display. It has 1.7 times more surface area and more than 50% faster recognition speed. After 6 months of use, I noticed that the scanner reads fingerprints faster and more accurately and unlocks in less than a second.
Samsung Galaxy S21 & S21 Ultra Hands On Review
The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is the first smartphone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC in the US. On the other hand, the global variant (like my Indian review unit) is powered by an Exynos 2100 SoC. Both chipsets are manufactured on Samsung’s 5nm process. (We are reviewing SKUs with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.)
In terms of performance, smartphones are the best. I didn’t notice any stuttering or slowing down even after using it for a long time. Apps such as everyday communication apps, web browsing, and games never slow down. It looks like Samsung has improved the memory management.
When multiple apps are minimized in the background, the system will not actively kill background apps, even when playing demanding games. Allocate enough resources to keep the game running smoothly. It’s clear that Samsung has optimized the software and hardware well.
However, thermal management could be better. The back of the phone gets quite hot in just 10 minutes when playing graphics-intensive games like PUBG Mobile. When I was at 120Hz, lowering the refresh rate to 60Hz took about 25 minutes longer, but the phone warmed up. Likewise, thermal management is good when recording video at 1080p, but when switched to 4K 60fps the phone heats up within about two minutes of recording.
Reasons To Upgrade From Galaxy S21 Ultra To Galaxy S23 Ultra
The gaming experience is smooth, but the back of the smartphone gets hot when the refresh rate is set to 120Hz.
Another area for improvement could be the headphones. The call volume is too low. I had to hold the earpiece too close to my ear to hear what the receiver was saying. However, when playing media through the stereo speakers (with the headset acting as a secondary speaker), the audio output was quite loud.
Finally, the battery life of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is quite good. It should last all day with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and normal everyday use, including social media apps, music via Bluetooth TWS, and an always-connected smartwatch. In terms of screen time, it was just over 5 hours. Switching to the standard 60Hz refresh rate increases battery life by nearly 6 hours at the same time.

Samsung Galaxy S21 5g Review: Great Device, But That Certain Something Is Missing
Samsung has greatly improved the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s camera system compared to last year’s Galaxy S20 Ultra. The primary camera now has an internal 108MP ISOCELL HM3 image sensor (1/1.33in, 0.8µm) which improves autofocus, low light and HDR performance. It basically uses Nonapixel technology with 9×1 pixel binning to create a 12MP picture. You can also click full 108MP resolution photos by enabling this feature in Settings. A full resolution photo is about 30 MB in size, and a pixelated image is about 7 MB.
In pro mode, you can also click on a RAW photo to edit it later. These files are approximately 24 MB in size. There are other interesting modes, such as Single Take, which records 5-15 second video clips. The AI then analyzes the video clips and selects the best moments: photos with filters, portrait mode, short videos like boomerang, and dynamic slow motion. I tried it a few times and the results were impressive.
In terms of quality, the camera captures stunning photos with great detail and wide dynamic range. The photo below was clicked on a rainy day. It perfectly captures clouds, greenery, lake water, barbed wire, and rocks.
Close-up shots show detail. The photo below might capture a dust particle on a leaf, a drop of water on a petal, or a well-focused cupid with a blurred background.
Galaxy S21 Ultra 5g Review: Samsung’s Premier Phone Is Pretty Badass
There’s a Focus Enhancer mode that switches to an ultra-wide-angle lens for added sharpness when taking close-up shots. The entire frame is now in focus, not just subjects with blurred backgrounds.
Night mode is greatly improved thanks to the large 108MP sensor that absorbs more light by combining 9 adjacent pixels into a single pixel. AI can intelligently select the appropriate ISO setting from high to low. The result is a sharp image with less noise. The photo below was taken in a dark environment around midnight and shows the smartphone’s AI capabilities.
Now that the Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 10x hybrid zoom with a 48MP telephoto lens, the new Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with two telephoto lenses, each with 10MP resolution, but with different focal lengths (70-240mm equivalent). This allows for 10X optical zoom and up to 100X spatial zoom. At 10X zoom, photos are crisp and detailed.
I was also able to read 30X text on a truck parked about 800 meters away. 100X is fine and useful, but that’s about it. What Samsung has done with the expandability of its S and Note series smartphones is commendable. Some photos are posted below (ultra wide angle, 10X, 30X, 100X).
