Update S 10 Plus Price Review

Samsung has released a new Galaxy S smartphone every year for the past decade. The original Galaxy S phones were good, but not great, and close copies of the iPhones that Apple sued Samsung and won.

The Excitement Of Big Os Updates Is Over For All Galaxy S10, Note 10 Models

It’s taken Samsung a few years to get up to speed with high-end devices, and the latest Galaxy S phones are predictably pretty good. This year’s Galaxy S10 family is different: high-end phones with advanced technology and sleek design.

Samsung’s success in the past 10 years is proof of that. The Galaxy S10 is Samsung – not a copy of the iPhone or any other device you can buy. Indeed, It’s almost the opposite of the iPhone: no headphone jacks; If you’ve been disappointed by recent Apple devices due to the inclusion of notches or the removal of the fingerprint scanner, Samsung is for you. headphone jack fingerprint scanner; and bare-bones surface design (other compromises). The S10 seems to be the opposite of the iPhone.

That’s not to say there aren’t similarities between Apple and Samsung’s top-end performance. On the other hand, Both are expensive: the Galaxy S10 starts at $899.99, and the S10 Plus, which I tested last week, starts at $999.99. You can even get the S10 Plus for $1,600 – almost three times the price of the popular OnePlus 6T.

Another thing the S10 shares with the iPhone is its lack of differentiation from its predecessors. Yes, The screen is bigger and there are significant improvements in performance and battery life, but if you have a Galaxy S8 or S9, the S10 won’t change much for you.

The S10 is one of the best phones you can buy right now, and it’s Samsung’s best Galaxy S phone. It will only consume you.

Just like last year’s Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S8, The S10’s hardware is excellent, and what you’d expect from an expensive device. The best way to describe it is: curved screens on many phones; Despite the screens and metal frames, some feel uncomfortable to hold or fit well. Samsung is now elegant; In terms of perfection and feel, it is at the level of Apple and Google. It’s already ahead of OnePlus and other Android device makers.

On the high-end S10 and S10 Plus, The front and rear glass transitions into a metal frame that makes the phone easy to hold despite the large screen. The curved screen has been a Samsung trademark for a few years, and while some may not like it, I have no problem with it.

Is the surface curved? The S10 Plus is a large phone and cannot be used with one hand. If I were to buy it, I’d put a case and a PopSocket on it for easy handling. For those who want a smaller phone, the regular S10 is still pretty big, and we’ll cover the new, smaller S10E in a separate review.

The S10 Plus’ improvements extend to things like a better vibration motor than other Android phones. It’s not as good as Apple’s Taptic engine, but it’s not noisy and annoying. It provides a good response for typing on the keyboard.

IPhone Unlike the Pixel and many other phones, The S10 still has a bottom headphone jack next to the USB-C port. It also has stereo sound that’s loud and full when you’re not wearing headphones.

The basic Galaxy S also has: IP68 water resistance; Fast wired and wireless charging (with quick brick in the box) microSD card support to expand the phone’s storage. The base model S10 has 128GB of internal storage, which I think most people will love. Both the iPhone and Pixel have less storage than the base configuration and don’t offer the ability to expand it with a microSD card.

The S10 can even be used to charge other wireless devices, such as Samsung’s new Galaxy Buds headphones or Galaxy Watch Active smartwatches, but beyond that there isn’t much use for this function.

The Best Samsung Galaxy S10 Deals (and Which Model To Choose)

The S10’s main hardware glitch is similar to the latest Samsung phones: there’s a side button dedicated to virtual assistant Bixby. Samsung has finally made this button programmable to open apps and other shortcuts, but that prevents Google Assistant or other virtual assistants from being added to this button, so if you still need to use an app, you’re a third party to do so.

Hardware design aside, the biggest draw of any Samsung phone is the display, and the S10 Plus doesn’t disappoint in the slightest. The 6.4-inch OLED panel has rich and vibrant colors and good viewing angles. It is very bright when used in direct sunlight and has enough resolution that individual pixels cannot be seen by the naked eye. The display runs across the top and bottom of the phone, with very thin bezels at the top and bottom.

Samsung seems to have oversaturated and the “Natural” mode I used looked really good and brought out the neon colors that Samsung is known for. Samsung says HDR10+ is the first S10 display on the market, supported by Amazon Prime Video and YouTube. (Apple’s flagship iPhones support the Dolby Vision standard, which the S10 doesn’t. They’re not really the same as HDR on a TV.) The S10 line doesn’t yet offer Netflix’s HDR, but it likely will. Updated to support it. You can buy the phone soon.

I think it’s safe to say that the S10 screen is one of the best phone screens available today.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite Review: Oneplus Has Serious Competition And It’s Not From A Chinese Counterpart

More interesting than what the screen itself contains. The screen extends to the top edge of the phone, but the S10 lacks a front-facing camera. Instead, Samsung uses an offset “hole punch” design that allows the camera to slide across the screen on the right side. On the S10 Plus, There are two cameras: a primary camera and a secondary camera for black effect and portrait mode.

This design avoids Samsung’s oft-criticised look, but also means the battery and network indicators are pushed to the left of centre. There are some compromises in the notch design, but at least it’s symmetrical: the notification and clock are on the left, and the battery and network indicator are on the right. The center view of the hole-punch design is worse for me.

You can choose to hide the front camera entirely with a uniform black bar at the top, but it makes the S10 Plus look like it has a giant “forehead” bezel. Depending on the app you’re using, that black bar may still appear – when I’m reading text in Pocket. No matter what setting I’m in,

The face of the front camera can be hidden by software, but it’s like placing a large bezel on the top of the phone.

Another in-display innovation is the fingerprint scanner, which has been moved to the back of the phone. The S10’s scanner is ultrasonic, which is believed to be more reliable and more sophisticated than the in-screen optical fingerprint scanner we’ve seen on the OnePlus 6T and other phones. It works even if your fingers are wet.

But it’s not as fast or reliable as the standard capacitive fingerprint scanner on the back of the S9. The target area for the reader is very small (even on the lock screen it will show an image where you have to place your finger); I had to think hard about finger placement to make it work.

However, It usually takes more than one try before my S10 unlocks. I wish there was a Face ID system that required a bit more to use, or at least a modern fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. The S10 has a face unlock feature, but it uses the camera to detect your face and compare it to previous photos – no 3D mapping or anything. I was able to unlock my S10 with a video of my face sent from another phone.
