Update Redmi India Review

Update Redmi India Review – At the beginning of the new year, Xiaomi started a boom in the launch of smartphones. Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 made their debut in India today. Of the three phones, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is the debut at the show, with a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor, 120Hz refresh rate and 120W fast charging. It will directly compete with the recently launched Realme 10 Pro Plus in the Indian market.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G is all set to take its place in the mid-range smartphone market in India. We spent some time with the device recently. Based on this experience, I write down my thoughts in this quick Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus review.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is priced at Rs 29,999 for the 8GB RAM model with 256GB internal storage. On the other hand, the 12GB RAM model is priced at Rs 32,999. The smartphone is available in three different colors – Arctic White, Obsidian Black and Iceberg Blue. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale for the first time on January 11 at noon through online shopping sites Flipkart, mi home and mi.com.

Best Xiaomi Phones 2023: Xiaomi Mobiles For Every Budget

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus has a flat screen design complemented by a glass back and plastic chassis. Talking about the rear panel, the smartphone has a camera island in the upper left corner and Redmi branding in the lower left corner. The color of the camera island complements the color of the back panel. In addition, the back of the device is slightly curved for easier handling. The only downside to the back panel is that it smudges easily.

Apart from that, the power button and volume rocker of the smartphone are located on the right back of the smartphone. Another important detail about the device is that Xiaomi has ditched the on-screen fingerprint scanner. This time we have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor combined with the power button.

In terms of display, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is equipped with a 6.67-inch Pro-AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. To protect the panel, it comes with Gorilla Glass 5. In addition, the phone has a maximum brightness of 900 nits, can produce about 1.07 billion colors, and it also supports the DCI-P3 color gamut. Not only that, but to upgrade your streaming experience, the smartphone also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Widevine L1 certification.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is powered by a MediaTek 1080 5G processor, and the top model comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In addition, the smartphone runs MIUI 13 based on the Android 12 operating system. This is a big setback for many users, considering that most of Xiaomi’s competitors have launched phones with the Android 13 operating system.

Redmi Note 11 Pro 4g Review: An Almost Perfect ‘note’?

Xiaomi claims that the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus will receive two years of Android updates and four years of security updates. There is no doubt that the time frame for support is more than adequate. The most amazing part of the device is that it is ad-free (bloatware is still there though), which is a big consolation for anyone who wants a mid-range smartphone. Operating the device is smooth and we can easily run multiple apps, games and other things on the phone. We will discuss it in more detail in our Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus review.

In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is equipped with a rear three-camera system, including a 200 MP main camera, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and 2 MP macro shooter. The phone’s main camera also has optical image stabilization (OIS) for photos and videos. In the initial test, the smartphone took decent pictures in both low light and daylight.

For selfies and video calls, the smartphone has a 13 MP front camera. We can safely say that the performance of the selfie camera is above average. However, we will test it a bit more and share exact details in our full review.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is powered by a 4980mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging. When I tested it, it only took 20 minutes and a few seconds to charge the phone from zero to 100%, which is crazy. One thing we are sure of is that users will only need a moment to charge their devices. Another important point is that the charger for the device is bundled with the box.

Keep in mind that we’ve only had the phone for a limited time so far, so we won’t give strong opinions on the smartphone’s capabilities. Similarly, the mid-range phone has just received MIUI 12.5 Enhanced in India, following a similar release from MIUI’s global division. MIUI 12.5 improved version lands on Redmi Note 9, the version number is V12.5.2.0.RJOINXM.

Last week, Xiaomi brought MIUI 12.5 improved version to Redmi Note 9 in MIUI global department. The OS update to V12.5.2.0.RJOMIXM also brings several fixes to the device’s lock screen, status bar, and notification bar, etc.

Now Xiaomi has updated the Indian version of Redmi Note 9 to the new operating system V12.5.2.0.RJOINXM. However, this update contains much fewer changes than V12.5.2.0.RJOMIXM. Specifically, Xiaomi did not fix any bugs this time, but instead focused on delivering MIUI 12.5 Enhanced and the October 2021 security patch.

You can read about the security changes made by the October 2021 patch in Google’s latest Android Security Bulletin. Previously, V12.5.2.0.RJOINXM was a Beta stable version which was randomly launched for mobile phones. However, Miui_download is now reporting that the update has reached a stable version so it should roll out to all Redmi Note 9 devices on the MIUI India branch.

Typically, Xiaomi releases OS updates in batches. Therefore, it may take several weeks or even a month for your device to receive the notification to download V12.5.2.0.RJOINXM. If you prefer, you can manually trigger the update by downloading and installing the recovery or OTA file linked below.
