Xiaomi today (January 26, 2022) announced the Redmi Note 11 series for the global market, announcing four new phone models for the entire range: Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro, Redmi Note 11S and Redmi Note. 11. Just like the Redmi devices that came before it, these entry-level and mid-range devices pack some flagship features to make them competitively attractive in an oversaturated market.
Redmi Note 11 Pro Review: A Big Screen Budget Phone Worth Getting
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11S contain a 108-megapixel primary rear camera (Samsung HM2 sensor with 1/1.52-inch sensor size). The main camera uses 9 by 1 pixels and double internal ISO to offer high dynamic range and color performance, even in low light conditions. These three models also pack an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
All four models use FHD+AMOLED DotDisplay. The Redmi Note 11S and Note 11 are 6.43-inches with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the Redmi Note 11 Pro and 5G versions use a 6.67-inch alternative with a 120Hz refresh rate. Differences aside, the new Redmi 11 series phones have 1,200 nits of brightness for extra brightness in bright daylight.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset, while the Redmi Note 11 Pro and 11S use the MediaTek Helio G96. The regular Redmi Note 11 has a Snapdragon 680 instead. Despite the differences in chip quality and performance, all phones have a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging (for Pro and Pro 5G) and 33W fast charging (11S and 11).
In China, the base model of the Redmi Note 11 starts at CNY1,199 (~S$254.97). Xiaomi Singapore will share local availability and pricing at a later date. For now, here are the specs:

MIUI 13 continues to roll out to more and more Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco smartphones. I managed to use this Android skin based on Android 12 on many different models like Xiaomi 12X, Poco F4 GT or Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. MIUI 13 can be a convoluted interface that misses the mark a bit on Android 12, but I like it for its many customization options and variety of features. And this despite the very obvious flaws.
For this comprehensive MIUI 13 review, I will cover the overall interface design, feature set, smoothness and stability, as well as Xiaomi’s update policy.
MIUI has always been a very cluttered interface and is very far from the original Android design. MIUI 13 is no exception. There are animations everywhere, which is a very expressive visual identity. In short, MIUI is eye-catching.
Sometimes, I think it’s too good, for example with Xiaomi Super Wallpapers, which turned out to be very successful with animated wallpapers. As for the MIUI Control Center, this shortcut menu has big, easy-to-read icons and looks great. Despite what the haters say, MIUI 13 definitely has an iOS feel to its design and that’s a good thing in my opinion.

However, at other times I find MIUI 13’s design to lack sophistication and sophistication. Notifications or quick access menu items are frankly less pretty than their Android 12 counterparts, which are much more sober and minimalistic in nature. In addition, I think it’s a shame that Xiaomi didn’t make an effort to implement the dynamic themes found in Android 12, which match the color of the interface to the dominant color of your background.
Some of the native apps like Security, Cleaner or Battery Utility have nice animations and an intuitive interface. However, when it comes to other apps like the browser, they are frankly cluttered and severely lacking in refinement.
MIUI 13 widgets are also very cool and visually appealing. That is, if you have a Xiaomi smartphone with a Chinese ROM. Yes, that’s because the famous widgets that Xiaomi dangled in front of us like carrots are carrots. They are not available in global and European MIUI 13 ROMs.
Redmi Note 11 Review: The Best Budget Of 2022?
MIUI 13 is a very feature-rich Android skin. I think you already noticed this from many of my tutorials if you follow it religiously.
In no particular order, I have mentioned the Back Tap feature here, which allows you to tap on the back of the Xiaomi smartphone to perform certain actions, such as an additional shortcut key. Or the Quick Ball menu, which lets you access a variety of shortcuts from your home screen via a floating balloon.
Some options are more unusual, such as the self-cleaning function of the Xiaomi smartphone speakers. Now that’s something you don’t see in other smartphones. But you can really have fun fiddling with the settings and experimenting with many of the features. I think it’s very nice that Xiaomi offers so many options to users.
MIUI also offers a whole range of native apps to clear cache, free up memory and free up space in your RAM, such as security and cleaner apps. I still believe that Xiaomi should just integrate them into the settings instead of making them separate apps.

MIUI 13 also offers several multitasking features, such as floating windows that are very intuitive, or a sidebar that allows you to access your favorite apps through the context menu by swiping to the edge of your home screen.

The display settings are also very comprehensive and allow you to change the color scheme in a much deeper way than with other manufacturers. It’s my pet peeve though – MIUI 13’s battery tool is one of the best of all Android skins. There is a lot of information to be gained from it, it has an interactive graph, a nice animation to indicate the charge level and an ergonomic slider button that allows you to switch between battery saving modes. Samsung and Oppo should take notes.
Finally, MIUI 13 also focuses on privacy, just like everyone else. We think it is similar to the privacy panel in Android 12 which helps to manage all his permissions.

Xiaomi also offers additional options that I think are very smart. One example is the ability to apply a “watermark” or signature to photos you want to share. This allows you to track them if someone decides to hijack one of your selfies to create a meme (but also for more serious situations like plagiarism or even harassment).
But the privacy settings have been greatly reduced compared to MIUI 12.5, at least that’s how I experienced it. You can no longer create a virtual ID to give a generic advertising ID, such as when browsing the Internet.
There are still annoying ads in MIUI 13. This is by far the biggest drawback of this skin and it affects smartphones of all price ranges, even high-end smartphones.
Of course, you can easily disable ads in MIUI, but it’s still a huge disservice to users. This clearly affects the buyer’s trust in the manufacturer.
