My local Gamestops insisted on not taking pre-orders and decided to pre-order all the Giant Man POPs they received. Luckily, my wife was kind enough to make a quick trip to the Gamestop closest to her workplace to get me one last 6″ Funko Giant-Man POP Vinyl! Is this big man worth the hard work?

I’m not going to lie: I didn’t like last summer’s Ant-Man movie; I didn’t. I’m also not excited about Ant-Man being in this year’s upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie. But that all changed in late 2015 when a LEGO leak revealed what fans have been speculating for a while – Ant-Man would transform into Giant-Man as part of Captain America 3!

While I think Ant-Man’s abilities of talking to ants and flying on them are pretty lame, there’s something primal, exciting, and cool about a guy who can grow to gigantic size and take down enemies. So while I’m pretty “hmm” with Ant-Man, I’m more than happy to join the ranks of Giant-Man.
So I was pretty bummed when I couldn’t buy the Giant-Man Funko POP Vinyl myself this morning. Luckily, my wife took him and let me have a blast for the rest of the day (maybe a week).
As of now, the giant Funko POP figure is only available in limited quantities at Gamestop, but the giant figure is also available for pre-order now from EE. It’s actually about 20% cheaper if you book online, but I’m not in sync with patience so I wouldn’t spend an extra $3 on that one.
Reviewing a costumed superhero game is hard and we don’t know from the actual movie yet, but in my opinion this vinyl statue needs to do two things to be successful: 1) have an update on Civil War clothing , 2) the scale must be large.
Funko Marvel Black Widow Pop Vinyls Figure Review
As we can see from the photo above, Scott Lang’s suit has clearly been upgraded from the Ant-Man movies to Civil War and all the sculpting/painting has been nice. Are the costumes completely accurate? Well… the jury is still out on that one. We’ll know when the movie hits theaters in two months.
As for the second qualifier, well – he’s a big one, so score! Giant Man is only the third Marvel POP Vinyls 6″ oversized character (yes, Baymax definitely counts), so he’ll definitely stand out from our smaller Funko Marvel 3.75″ brothers on our shelves.
Hey, what’s not worth having a Scott Lang figure big enough to stand next to a 6 inch Marvel Legends Wasp figure?
Given the increased size, I expected this Giant-Man Funko POP figure to have a nearly perfect paint job – and it did. Past Funko has no trace of a flawed paint application on this figure and I’m thankful for that.

(I used the mini-Ant-Man from the Ant-Man Collection Legion box in these photos for scale, as they make Giant-Man look big and impressive, but note that the mini-Ant-Man POP is definitely not included in this the picture.)
In fact, Disney allowed retailers to produce Giant-Man toys and then decided in late 2015 that Giant-Man should now be a secret, allowing the company to sit on production backlog and thus pull the rug out from under the hood. below. And pretend it doesn’t exist – that’s completely stupid.
In the end, all attempts at secrecy were in vain – the giant did not appear in the trailer of the movie Captain America: Civil War, but now everyone knows about him, thanks to toys from LEGO, Funko and Hasbro.

Nested Universe: Arrow Funko Pop! Vinyl Figures
If I have any complaint about this giant POP figure, it’s that he’s too small to be called a “giant”, but “sort of big” doesn’t mean the same thing – more importantly, Funko doesn’t have the Marvel license to produce larger POPs by 6 inches. I’d love it if they could make the number bigger than theirs, but unfortunately that’s not an option.
Overall: Since I haven’t seen Captain America: Civil War, it’s hard to judge the authenticity of this Funko Civil War Giant POP! Vinyl figures. What can I say, this giant man figure takes the regular Ant-Man POP size and gives it an updated design with improved paint and sculpting details. The translucent red lenses on the mask look great and it’s so much fun to have an oversized Marvel POP vinyl of what is actually supposed to be a giant character. recommend. Ever since it was announced at the end of September, I’ve seen Funko collectors worry about this year’s Comikaze exclusive POPs, wondering if they’ll be able to get their hands on them or if they have to pay the scammers some money to get their own GITD. Hulk and Chrome Colossus figure.
Based on the semi-wide availability of the previous Comikaze POP, I’m sure Colossus and She-Hulk will have no problem getting in on the buzz and pick on release day.
Funko Giant Man Pop Vinyl Released! Review & Photos!
Turns out – I was absolutely right. When I got there this afternoon, my latest hot topic still had over a dozen characters and zero scalpers or other collectors to be found anywhere.
I have to randomly spend time picking out the best paint POP vinyl (as far as I know) and check it out at my leisure. Great usability and easy access to them – well done, hot topic.
I won’t comment on Shulkie as it’s just a standard “glow in the dark” variant of the regular version with no other changes, but let’s talk about this Chrome Colossus vinyl figure!
Usually con exclusives are just variants, but this Comikaze Colossus POP figure is a brand new mold uniquely numbered #183, which coincidentally puts him alongside Mohawk Storm and other After the new X-Men popular characters! This has to be one of the best exclusives of all time.

The chrome on this Funko POP Colossus looks absolutely stunning. Hasbro doesn’t color their models anymore – not even Captain Phasma or C-3PO – but I wish they did.
The chrome Colossus looks pretty impressive, it’s a shame that next year’s Marvel Legends Colossus figure will be painted on a regular basis.
The ‘boxing’ pose on the new version of Colossus looks dynamic and far superior to the original museum pose – if you didn’t have the first one, there’s really no reason to bother trying it now.
Funko’s quality control has come a long way by leaps and bounds in recent years, but there’s still some messy paint that slips from time to time.

The paint finish on the Colossus is certainly nice – but I’d be lying if I said it was perfect. He had some tiny blemishes on his left boot and torso that gave me OCD when I looked closely and picked the best one in the store all over.
If you get a chance to choose from a plethora of these in your local hits, I recommend doing so – the figure is too nice to be ruined by a full paint job.
Overall: Funko exclusives can be a bit underwhelming sometimes, but not this time! The Funko POP Vinyls Chrome Colossus Figure is the other end of the spectrum and one of the coolest standout figures in my entire Marvel POP collection. The paint isn’t perfect on some parts of his costume, but he’s one of my favorite Funko Marvel characters. Well worth my 15 (and yours). Funko Pop! Character models are one of the coolest collectibles. Almost every character you can think of has a figure! A while back, I watched Stranger Things on Netflix and was anxiously awaiting the new season. So you can imagine my excitement when this shipment showed up in our mailboxes. Here are some of the Funko Pop! numbers in the show.
