Update Lined Note Pad Review – DesignWorks’ standard note issue is a remarkable notebook from small stationery store Franklin, TN.
The Note 11 Pad is a 3.5 x 5.5-inch reporter-style notebook with an elegant spring feel and a smart strap to keep the notebook closed when not in use. With 120 sheets, there’s plenty of room to fill pages containing these lists. Unlike many of today’s popular paperbacks, the inside cover is completely blank. According to Venice, paper with a light gray inter-ink for lines is not acidic. Overall, it’s a nice little package that looks good sitting on your desk.

The notepad is a bit small on the one hand because of the number of sheets included, but it’s not so thick that you can’t fit it in a pocket. All sheets are firmly attached with strong glue and exclude sheets that are torn at the back. You can tear a sheet out of this notebook, but I don’t recommend it because it will look a little weird. The notebook is built well enough that it can take some abuse, but I also like that it’s clean.

Inside the notebook, you’re greeted by a friendly book-style decision printed in light grey/blue ink. The paper is smooth and perfectly aligned. I was really impressed with the build quality in this little notepad. A lot of attention has been paid to the small details of this product and it shows. In terms of quality, take a look at one of the best features of this book: the paper.
With small notebooks in this price range, I usually don’t expect anything great in terms of paper quality. I’d be happy if they handled gels and pens well and didn’t fail completely in the spray pen area. In the case of Design Works notebooks, paper is special. It’s a glossy paper with a great fountain pen. I didn’t see any hair – not even big branches. There’s a small amount of display, but it’s small and leaves the back of the page perfectly usable. The nibs move the paper with little effort and the ink seems to dry fairly quickly. I have to admit I was surprised by the quality of the paper as there was no indication of the type of paper in their notebooks or website. In general, if a brand isn’t proud of its paper, it’s usually not an easy-to-use pen. Not so with this notebook. I’m not sure what paper they use, but it’s good for pens.
Despite the excellent build quality and paper used in the notebook, there are some drawbacks. My biggest complaint is the limited management options. In the “notepad” line, you only have one option: the notebook line. It was a brave choice and one I would never make voluntarily. I think it’s closing the page because I use the notebook as a real notebook 0% of the time. Standard paper would be a better choice, but I’m not a designer. Despite the heavy layering options, it’s still a pleasant notebook to use. And according to the spreadsheet line, there are very few, only two lines.
My only complaint is about the ban. It’s a strong binder, but it also prevents the page from stopping without support. This isn’t a big deal for a Reporter layout, but it strikes me as wrong. Over time, I think it will get better, and I can enjoy a firmer binding as the notebook ages and keeps all its pages in place.

The R cable is marketed by Rhodia as a high premium panel. After solving a problem, I understood why. Available in black or orange, the R by Rhodia panel is adorned with a wide soft cover. The cover, which is almost rubbery smooth, is a nice preview for the special glossy paper inside. It’s almost like neoprene rubber and feels like “soft rubber” on my Nexus 4 (phone). R by Rhodia feels great under the arm and all the way through. The build is solid and I’m not worried about durability. I haven’t tried, but I’m sure the cover is water resistant and can easily survive shipping. the rain. I can appreciate the small details like the small perforated pages, the foldable cover and the soft touch treatment on the outside of the panel.

Practice and Feel: This notepad is marketed as “premium” and I totally understand. Rhodia’s R-Line uses 90g ivory paper, while the standard Rhodia panel uses 80g bright white paper. I believe this paper is smoother than standard Rhodia board (which is saying a lot). Paper provides a smooth writing experience. The second thing I noticed immediately was the smoothness of the paper under my hand as I wrote. This panel works great under everything from Extra Fine Nib to 1.5mm Italic. Bleeding is not apparent, and the ink penetrates the page quickly.
Color and arrangement: Another feature that differentiates the R line from the standard product line is the use of ivory colored paper. It’s a beautiful shade of ivory that’s easy on the eyes and not too pale. It compliments most inks well, but I still don’t use it to test inks because the ivory slightly changes the appearance of the ink. It’s a far cry from the yellow roll panel and looks good too. The Color Resolution is also different from the rest of the Rhodia line. The light purple line has been replaced with a light gray color that makes the ivory paper better than the purple.
Overall Thoughts and Recommendations: No. 18 by Rhodia Notepad is amazing. The 90g ivory paper is smooth and looks as smooth as a fountain pen as it gets. No hair with this ink.
Showing and not bleeding. I would appreciate a piece of paper that both sides can use. The soft-touch cover is a nice detail that helps differentiate the R from the Rhodia string. If you’re already a fan of Rhodia Paper, you should definitely check it out!

Notepad writing has always been a favorite here, and the Classic Hardcover is no exception.
Notepads is based in Baltimore, Maryland and offers a wide range of paper products. The stationery they sell is the best and I always have a hard time deciding when it comes time to order. It all sounds interesting and the products I’ve already tried keep me coming back for more. However, I have never tried their classic hardcover notebook.
The Classic Notebook is an A5 notebook with glossy white paper, colorful notes and a beautiful fabric cover. Pages are numbered in the lower outer corners, making bookmarking easy. Glossy paper slightly improves feedback when writing, making it easier to control your pen when jotting down ideas or drawing.
The stitched notebook has 160 pages of 70 lb paper, and light green ink for lines or dots used to create control patterns. The corners are sharp, not rounded, but that’s not a problem because the notebook’s straps keep them from bending when in a bag.
