It can connect to both 4G LTE networks and Wi-Fi, and has Bluetooth to connect your wireless headphones.

There are Google apps like YouTube, Maps, and Assistant, and you’ll also find Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp (but no Instagram, Messenger, or Spotify). On paper, its apps cover most of the features you’d want from an everyday phone. However, just because the phone has these apps, it doesn’t mean they work the way you’re used to.

Get WhatsApp. The Facebook messaging app cannot be used on the Nokia 2720 Flip. All the WhatsApp group chats I’m a member of seem to be fine, and apart from one time when someone tried to send me their location, the app seems to support most of the main functions.

But trust me, trying to type WhatsApp messages on the T9’s keyboard is incredibly frustrating, and affects my ability to communicate with people in ways I never expected. Unless you are willing to spend a lot of time writing, you will find that your messages start to become short and to the point. Group discussions with more than two participants become impossible to respond to when messages start arriving quickly.

Using WhatsApp with the T9 keyboard feels like running a race where you are the only person wearing the lead boots. Using Google Maps works in a pinch, but you should be prepared for it to take a good minute or so to go through the slow process of finding some directions.
