In this space, the phone has a 6.4-inch display topped by a waterdrop notch and a minimal chin bezel at the bottom. At just £245, I’m blown away by how perfect the phone’s front elements are. There is even a 3.5mm headphone jack (albeit at the bottom).

For starters, the M31’s plastic back is an absolute fingerprint magnet, and the sleek body itself doesn’t hold your hand very well. Despite the small protrusion in the camera, the array of four camera sensors is barely noticeable, whether you keep the phone in your pocket or lay it face-down on a table.

While this seems to have stabilized after a few software updates, the phone at first regularly lost connection with my Whoop 3.0 Band and TicWatch C2 Plus smartwatches. If you’re not a smartwatch fan, you’ll probably never have this problem, but for a fitness fanatic like me who loves tracking health stats, it’s worth it.
If you’re into mobile gaming during your lunch break, the M31 will get you through most games – don’t expect Fortnite to launch on it anytime soon.
