What makes the display of the S20 series stand out is that it supports a high frequency of 120 Hz. Samsung isn’t going to match the 90Hz capabilities of its 2019 competitors, but that’s one. It’s a really cool feature for the S20, giving it a sense of flexibility and smoothness that’s only reserved for dedicated gaming devices.
Samsung has also updated the punch-hole camera design. A new design language has been introduced in the Note10 series, but the S20 phone has reduced the camera notch. Comparing the S20+ to last year’s S10+, the difference is stark. The reduced area reduces the thickness of the notification panel, which is quite thick in the S10 series, and further expands the real estate of the phone screen. Aside from the actual front-facing camera design, I think this will be as sleek a design as we’ll get until the technology is ready for prime time.

The rest of the phone is covered by a curved glass back panel, which I have to say, is probably one of my favorite design features of the S20+, as it offers great ergonomics in the hand. Feel that it’s more accurate than you’d expect from a phone. It’s only 0.4mm thinner than the S10+, but feels better in the hand thanks to the new curve.
The curved side of the back glass is not only made for aesthetics, but also as a technical support for the mmWave modules inside the phone (two modules facing the side and one facing the back). It will be more difficult to transmit and receive these high-frequency signals optimally if the metal frame is more, like the classic phone model.
