I’ve been using Hobonichi Weeks for the past three years, but last fall when I started graduate school, it didn’t have enough space. I work full-time as a writer, part-time as a librarian, have two kids and their own schedules, and when I add schoolwork to the mix, it seems like there aren’t enough pages in the world to contain my work. Sign up. He still feels that way. Last January, when I realized that I had a lot of things that fit in my planner, I decided that I would not improve my planner but simplify my life. I don’t want to have more things to do than fit into a regular developer! This is a good plan. But it didn’t work. I ended up giving up my Sunday a few months ago and BuJoing until the end of this year. So, what are you getting for 2022?
Update Day A Page Diary 2021 A5 Review
This year I was tempted to make the same goal and Sunday, which is my favorite arrangement, tempted me. Planner season is full of temptation. There are reasons, though, and I’m sticking with my plans to get an A5 planner — but not this year’s Hobonichi. I’ve tried Cousin before and like it, but Midori MD paper is right up there with Tomoe for me in terms of favorite paper, and I think the Midori MD Diary 2022 A5 Book 1 Day 1 Page layout. it could be perfect for me.

In advance, there is a monthly gap from December 2021 to January 2023 so I can start early and plan ahead. The week starts on Monday, which is the only logical way to do this and I won’t hear any arguments to the contrary. Perfect. Then there are 385 undated daily pages, a total of 416 pages. You know how much I love pages.
What caught my attention about the layout of these pages is that they look exactly like the layouts I’ve designed myself in my BuJo over the past few months. I have to use an hourly scheduled plan to keep it alive and this layout includes an hourly list on the left side. 8am to midnight, but there’s an empty space upstairs if your day starts ridiculously early like me. Technically, there is enough room to list until 1am, making it a 24-hour calendar. Perfect if you work the night shift! Or just stay overnight to study. There are also 7 lines below the hourly section for notes or if you have a time machine and can add more hours to your day.
What is particularly unique about these pages are the margins, which are the real star of the show. Around the monthly calendar is a blank space for lists and notes and planning. And the right half of each daily page is blank for sketches, notes, lists, habit trackers, stickers, tea stains, poetry, ideas, reminders or heartfelt laments. It might just be what you need.
It is a perfect combination of structure and chaos. My life is a very planned mess, and this planner gives me space for it all. It also has two ribbon bookmarks so you can keep one in the monthly section and one in the daily section. It also comes with sticky tabs that you can use to mark your months on the daily planner page.
Midori Md Diary 2022 A5, 1 Day 1 Page Review — The Pen Addict
I’ve talked about Midori MD’s article before, many times, but I’ll repeat my admiration here – it’s great. It’s light and crisp and easily handles pens and inks of all fluidities. There is a show-through, but less than the Tomoe River paper. It shows great shading and has a slightly faster drying time than many coated papers. I would recommend using some marker paper as a bookmark if you’re making a quick Planner entry on the go.
There are really only two knocks against this Designer that I can think of. First, there is no weekly overview. Monthly and daily only. I like to watch it once a week so it takes some adjusting. And two, all those pages mean this designer is fat. It is a full inch thick. It doesn’t fit most of my A5 notebook covers. Midori anticipated this and has a great cover: soft and light PVC with a faux pebbled leather effect. It’s cream in color and minimalist with the MD logo embossed on the cover and 2022 on the spine. That’s perfectly fine. More stylish than boring. But normally I’d put it inside a Nock Seed box or Galen Leather Folio – unfortunately, it won’t fit. I just need to cover it with stickers.
I don’t expect any book to do the job in the chaos of my life, but I think it will be a good helper for 2022. I’m glad to finally admit that I need a big space to do big things. and hopefully this will help me keep the little thing from slipping through the cracks. 2020 and 2021 are not good. Not at all. “The story of 2022,” says this book inside the cover. I couldn’t help but give him a stern look and hopefully it would be my best habit.
