Each spring, Techsmith releases new versions of its applications, and this year: Camtasia 2021 will be released on April 27, 2021.
This update includes several new features, enhancements, and user interface improvements. Very few Camtasia users really need a few models for a long time.
There are many things you can have in Camtasia. Let’s see what it has to offer:
Camtasia can capture and record your entire computer screen. Alternatively, you can choose from a variety of screen sizes, including widescreen 1080p HD (1920×1080). You can even take a screenshot of part of your phone. Simply draw a grid around the information you want to record and only the data within the grid will be saved.

Camtasia seems to have a unique screen recorder. Some of the options you had with the previous recorder seem to have been eliminated.
The 2021 version includes four different panels. They’re slightly larger and you can easily adjust the recording area, check and uncheck the box, and use the microphone and system audio from the recording menu in the right corner of the screen.
Camtasia 2021 also features a media matte effect, which is an interesting visual cue. So go to “Visual Effects” and look for “Media Matte”. The media mat works depending on what else you put on your clip.
If you go to annotation and decide to use a pattern, such as a circle, overlay it over your clip on a different track. If you expect your video to be visible all around in this format, like a video circle within a circle, you would have to go through many steps with trackmats.

With Camtasia 2021’s Media Matte Visual Effects, it’s now easy to do, and you don’t have to change your tracks. Just go to “Visual Effects”, select “Media Matte” and set the object you want to use as a mask.
You can apply this motion blur effect to your clip by going to visual effects and selecting it. You only use it for your clip, not for your animation. Therefore it refers to the entire clip. This provides a natural flow and also works with images.
The speed of your animation affects the motion blur effect in Camtasia 2021. As you slow down the animation, the blur effect becomes more pronounced. The longer the blur effect lasts, the faster you move your objects in the video. This gives you a cool, authentic look.
One of the best additions requested by Camtasia forum users was the ability to create proxy videos, especially for performance reasons. As videos continue to grow in size with higher resolutions, many video editing programs now have this feature.

Drag this to the top edge of the clip on the timeline and adjust the rotation radius in the properties on the right. They are the same at all four corners, so you can swap those corners in and out.

In previous versions of Camtasia, changes were limited to simple effects like transitions, slides, and animated page turns. There are more than 75 transitions in Camtasia 2021, including bubbles, diamonds, waves, arcs, and imploding hexagons. To use the transition, select it in the side panel and then drop it on the “connection” between two adjacent sections. When the video is playing, the animation will cause one clip to transition into another using the selected animation.

A few more visuals have also been added. You can add motion blur to make animations (like header image messages) look great quickly, and you can round off the corners of the main shot or foreground object, like a video clip overlaid on top of the screencast. You can also add background textures to clips to change the hue, and you can add a matte effect to create a silhouette, for example, or to clip out a foreground object like text or video. For example, you can add a mask to the header so that background videos show through the players.
Another new feature I was looking forward to was the color LUT (Lookup Table) feature. This allows you to apply sound effects to video clips to add “warmth” or add subtle natural lighting effects.
